Genesis 13:14-18 True Separation

"And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD."

Finally!!! We have Abram where G-d intended him to be, by himself. If you remember, back in Genesis 12:1, G-d told Abram to get out of his country, away from his family unto a land he would show him. However, Abram has done everything else but what G-d wanted him to do. Now we see Abram maturing to the point where he is ready to begin the next step in his relationship with G-d.

This is great example of how we respond to G-d. Instead of being where G-d wants you and me to be, we run the opposite direction. G-d wants us to be separated from the world and reliant on G-d alone. We need to ask ourselves on a daily basis, are we where G-d wants us to be?

Here we also have G-d, not only promising the land to Abram, but also to make Abram's seed more numerous than the dust of the earth. At first thought, you would think that Israel and all the Jews were his legacy. However, all the Jews from the beginning of time could not fulfill what G-d intends here. Fulfillment also includes the body of Christ. Also, Israel has never occupied the land is now showing Abram here.

In the future, we will see the Jews inhabit the land he is showing Abram. However, we will also see the complete seed of Abram, the Body of Christ, inhabit the new earth and the new Jerusalem.

Genesis 13:5-13 A Sign of Faith

And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

Even though both Abram and Lot lived a short time outside of G-ds will, they were children of G-d and were rewarded with riches. However, as we discussed back in Genesis 12, Abram was called out of Ur not his family. At that time, Abram lacked the faith to leave without his family. Now, we are seeing circumstances in Abram's life move him further in that direction. G-d wanted Abram to rely on G-d alone in order to build the faith that will build a nation.

And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

We see a major leap of faith. Abram is not only willing to separate himself from the world, but also the rest of his family. Knowing that G-d will provide no matter what, Abram allows Lot to choose the best of the land for himself. However, as we will see, Lot is about to learn the grass isn't always greener on the other side lesson.

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

Lot must have been foaming at the mouth. He thought he was getting the best of both worlds. Notice he references the garden and Egypt. This shows Lot true nature and the way G-d feels about those who try to live with one foot with G-d and one foot in the world.

Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

I find it interesting that Abram ends up in a land whose name means to humble and subjegate oneself while worldly Lot ends up in a land whose name means scorched. To me, this shows that G-ds Word is always teaching us lessons on how he wants us to live our lives.

Genesis 13:1-4 Get Back...Get Back...Get Back To Where You Once Belong

"And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; Unto the place of the altar, which he had make there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD."

Here we have Abram, Sarai and Lot returning from Eqypt, through the Negev, back to where they belong, Beth-El. Symbolically, we can say that they are returning from being in the world back to G-d and sometimes, it requires traveling through the Negev, the wilderness.

G-d knew that Abram would be faithful and return to him. Therefore, he rewarded him with great riches. G-d does the same with us. There will be times that we will run or play in the world but he knows which of his children will return. Those children will be rewarded with great riches...sometimes material...all the time spiritual.

As a side note, I find it interesting the words in which the Spirit uses. In verse one, instead of saying Abram, Sarai and Lot, he uses Abram, his wife, and Lot. A closer look at the Hebrew word, "ish-shaw', naw-sheem'", which is translated as wife reveals a message. "Ish-shaw', naw-sheem'", can also be translated as adulteress.

This shows that G-d didn't just wink at Abram transgression in Egypt but also holds Sarai accountable for adultery with Pharoah. The Haggadah and other secular sources reveal that this Pharoah was Ashwerosh or Auserra Apopi.

Whenever we play in the world, we are committing adultery. Anytime we put worldly things above G-d, he commit spiritual adultery. However, just as G-d forgave Abram and Sarai, we will forgive us of Spiritual adultery if we turn away from the world and turn to Beth-El, the House of G-d.

Genesis 12: 11-20 Why Did Abram Lie? Did He Lack Faith?

And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou [art] a fair woman to look upon: Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This [is] his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. Say, I pray thee, thou [art] my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she [was] very fair.The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

In the past few verses, we see G-d speak to Abram, call him out of his ancestrial home, gave him a promise of a new life, land, and blessing and then show him the actual land. We then see Abram head to Egypt at the first sign of trouble.

Now we have Abram talking his beautiful wife into lying for him in case someone wanted to kill him for her.

Before we go any further, Egypt is seen as symbolic for the world. This, along with the past couple of verses, should peak our interest. So far, we have G-d revealing himself to Abram, calling him to be sanctified, separated from the world. We see G-d giving the promise and at the sign of trouble, he heads where? The world not G-d.

That is so typical of us humans. G-d proves himself everyday as long as we open our eyes. He is there. Why is it that in times of despondency, we turn our backs on the only one who can help us. It's a lack of faith. I sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's the truth.

We say we believe but head for the nearest tree at the first sign of rain. We need to continually rely on the promises of G-d. Was Abram faithless? No. He lacked the faith to get him through. As we will see, that will change.

I have a disagreement with a lot of people concerning faith. When we come to G-d through the Messiah, we gain the gift of the indwelling of G-d's Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit, we have the ability to be perfect b'nai Elohim. However, we lack the faith. We see the same here with Abram. He and Sarai rather run to the world instead of relying on the promises of G-d. He was an immature believer. Unfortunately, we all go through those growing pains. Even more unfortunately, some of us never grow out of it.

And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife. And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What [is] this [that] thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she [was] thy wife? Why saidst thou, She [is] my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take [her], and go thy way. And Pharaoh commanded [his] men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

This blows me away. However, it does answer the questions many people have concerning others who call themselves Christian and appear to be evil. At first, Abram lied and now he's benefitting from it. Doesn't that seem so wrong? So evil? Secondly, It is such a bad testimony which will turn people away from G-d.

As in so many cases throughout our lives, we have to step back and separate the person from the actions. This is no different. Abram lacked enough faith to rely on G-d's promises but enough faith to believe and act intially on it.

Again, we are the same way. As we will see, Abram will grow in faith. That's what we have to do. G-d's is pleased when you believe in him and act upon it. However, it is necessary to grow continually. If we don't and we continually live in and rely on the world, we may still call him Lord, but don't be surprised if the Lord says, "Depart from me, I never knew you."

This would be such a tragedy because it's so easy....if we only rely on G-d and his promises.

Genesis 12:9-10 Abrams First Mistake and Ours?

And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south. And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine [was] grievous in the land.

G-d told Abram that he was going to make him a great nation, a great people, a blessing to all the earth. However, at the site of a little trouble, he hightails it out of the country. What's up with that? Did Abram think that G-d was messing with him, only to lead him to a place in order to die.

Why is it that everytime we have problems in our life, we attempt to run away? Didn't Abram believe G-d? Don't we believe G-d? Didn't G-d promise to take care of Abram? Aren't those same promises ours to claim?

Then why do we also turn our backs on G-d and attempt to remedy the problems in our lives ourselves. Do we not think G-d is capable?

Unfortunately, it's human nature. However, we need to rely on G-ds nature, not our own. But, most of the time, we don't. And when we don't and we fall flat on our faces, the most important thing to do turn to G-d in these troubled times in order that our faith in him is increased.

Abram does exactly that but not before he gets himself in trouble and leaves us a bad example to follow. That, my friends, is for the next entry. I leave you with something Y'shua told us in Matthew 6:26.

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?"

G-d takes care of us, even if you don't believe it. It's all about faith. Believe it.

Genesis 12:7-8 Keeping Your Eye On The Big Picture.

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

Abram has been traveling and it had to be pretty difficult up to now. However, as G-d does with us, Abram is stop and reminded of the promise. Abram responds like one with true faith. Abram builds an altar to G-d. We need to continually keep the altar of G-d first and foremost in our minds. The altar of G-d has been and always will be the way that reminds and leads us to G-d's side. The altar of G-d is the cross on which Y'shua was sacrificed for our sins.

As we journey with Abram and through our own lives, keep your eye on the cross, the altar of G-d.

And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.

Abram was reminded of the promise of the land. However, Y'shua tells us that not only did Abram see this promise but he saw the big picture of the promise, the coming of salvation through the Messiah and rejoiced in it.

Abraham, your father, was glad that he might see my day; and he saw, and did rejoice. John 8:56

We see an alusion to exactly that here. The first altar represents the first part of the promise, the promise of the land, being a great nation and a great people. The second altar refers to the second part of the promise, the promise of the whole earth will be blessed through Abraham by way of the Bethel, which means "House of G-d."

I find it very interesting that Bethel was assigned to the Benjamites(which is representative of Israel), but they did not possess it, and we find it taken by the children of Joseph(which is representative of the Messiah and those who follow him, the church).

Please, don't take this as the promise passing from Israel to the church. That is not supported by the Bible. However, you can take it as the church as the fulfillment of that promise.

Presently, the House of G-d is still calling out to the House of Israel and the House of the Gentiles. This is my calling. I feel that G-d is using me to reach out to the Jew and Gentiles. G-d desires for the the two houses to become one within the House of G-d under the leadership of the Messiah.

If you belong to a synagogue or church that does not actively reach out to both, then it's time for a serious self re-evaluation.

Genesis 12:4-6 ...And So Our Journey Begins.

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

As G-d commanded, Abram leaves his old life behind in order to start a new life. Two lessons we learn from here:

1. You are never too old to be called out to do G-d's work. Abram was 75 years old. Most of us want to sit back and enjoy the rest of our lives. Never rest until we go home.

2. Haran is the Hebrew word, "Charan", which means parched. If you are being called out by G-d, no matter where you are, no matter what you are doing or who you think you are, you are living in a parched or barren place. G-d wants you begin your journey from that parched place to come to the living water where you will never thirst again.

And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Canaan is the Hebrew word Kenaw, which means "humiliation or to make humble". At first thought, you have to ask, "Why would G-d call Abram out of a parched or barren place and lead him first into a land which means, "humiliation or to make humble"? Sometimes, G-d has to break down the old person you are in order to recreate the new person sanctified and usable by G-d. This is the case, as we will see, with Abram.

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

I love G-d's Word. Here, on the way from a barren life to the first lesson in a sanctified life, Abram passes through Sichem and Moreh which means "shoulder the burden" and "teaching". Isn't that the way G-d is? Even though Abram will shoulder the burden of this new life, G-d will teach him how to survive it.

That's the way you and I go through life. G-d tells us that it is not going to be easy to make it to the promise land but he will be there to help us shoulder the burden and continually teach us the way to get through the humbling times of humiliation.

Genesis 12:1-3 The Promise of Peace: The Calling of Abraham

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Here we have the calling of Abram, who is later renamed, by G-d, as Abraham, the father of the Judaic line. His wife is Sarai, who is also renamed as Sarah. I find it very interesting that G-d adds the Hebrew letter “hey” to their names. The letter “Hey” is symbolic of the breath of G-d. By the breath of G-d comes his Word which is the Messiah Y’shua and the father of the Messianic line is Abram or Abraham.

Also, anytime G-d calls anyone into service, he calls them to be sanctified, or separated from worldly influences. This is no different from you and me. Here he is telling Abram to get away from everything and come to G-d. Notice that it’s not a request. He is commanding Abram to come forth. If it was a request then he would have phrased it as an “If …Then” comment. If you come forth then I’ll will bless thee. No. He is telling Abram to come forth and he WILL bless him. The reason is that G-d has had a salvation plan for you and me from the beginning and now is going to continue through this man, Abram.

Notice that it is a command followed by a unconditional promise. It doesn’t matter what Abram does from here on out, G-d is going to follow through with his promise. Praise G-d. Aren’t you glad that G-d is that way. Once you place your faith and separated yourself from the world, G-d has promised you eternal life with him and there’s nothing you can do to separate yourself from G-d….unless you make a conscience decision to leave him. Abram is no different. As we will see, Abram will put his faith in G-d and will fall flat on his face many times before the end of his life. However, G-d will always be faithful and follow through with his promises.

In these verses, G-d promises to show him a land that he will give to Abram and his descendants and make it a great nation. This nation is what we know today as Israel. I love the part that G-d will bless the nation of Israel and make it a blessing to the whole world. This blessing came to us through the Messiah Y’shua which came out of Israel. It is amazing to sit back and look at how G-d’s plan has played out and continues to play out according to the scriptures. I do believe we are in for some exciting times ahead as G-d’s salvation plan comes to a head. I firmly believe and expected that we will see the coming of our Lord and Savior in his triumph return for his people within our lifetime.

Finally, notice in verse three that G-d will also bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. To see this, all you have to do is look back on the past seventy years and see the supernatural protection of the nation of Israel. You might say that they don’t believe in the Messiah, Y’shua. That is true right now. However, as the scriptures tell us, they will come to recognize the Messiah in the end times and remember that this is an unconditional promise. It doesn’t matter what Israel does, G-d fulfills his promises not for Israel and anyone else but for his glory and name sake.

We, as the people of this world, must treat Israel with respect and friendship because they are blessed by G-d. Right now, there is a movement within the United States leadership to slowly distance themselves from Israel. This is a major mistake. I firmly believe that will lead to our downfall as a great nation. The United States, Great Britain, Canada, etc. have been blessed because they started are Christian nations and have supported the nation of Israel. Turning our backs on Israel will lead to judgement.

Today, I leave you with Psalm 122.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. “

We should daily pray for peace in Jerusalem, Israel. If we do, we will prosper and we will see the coming of the Lord. For true peace will come only when Israel recognizes the true Messhiach which happens, according to the scriptures, just before G-d comes for his people.

Come Lord Y’shua Come.

Genesis 11:10-32: The Path To Our Savior?

These are the generations of Shem: Shem was a hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood: And Shem lived after he begot Arphaxad five hundred years, and begot sons and daughters. And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begot Salah: And Arphaxad lived after he begot Salah four hundred and three years, and begot sons and daughters. And Salah lived thirty years, and begot Eber: And Salah lived after he begot Eber four hundred and three years, and begot sons and daughters. And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begot Peleg: And Eber lived after he begot Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters. And Peleg lived thirty years, and begot Reu: And Peleg lived after he begot Reu two hundred and nine years, and begot sons and daughters. And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begot Serug: And Reu lived after he begot Serug two hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters. And Serug lived thirty years, and begot Nahor: And Serug lived after he begot Nahor two hundred years, and begot sons and daughters. And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begot Terah: And Nahor lived after he begot Terah a hundred and nineteen years, and begot sons and daughters. And Terah lived seventy years, and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begot Lot. And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. But Sarai was barren; she had no child. And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

Here we have what appears to be another simple genealogy. However, as we have learned, nothing appears in the Scriptures without a reason. This section starts out as “The Generation of the Name” Shem means “the name”. In the Bible, there is only one name that is above all names and that is Y’shua.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father. Philippians 2:9-11

If we take a look at the meanings of the names mentioned here, we find a prophecy pointing to our salvation.

Shem means "the name"
Arphaxad means "the healer and forgiver"
Salah means "will rise up"
Eber means "one that will allot to himself the anger"
Peleg means "bear it for the sect."
Reu means "friend and shepherd."
Serug means "this line"
Nahor means "become weak or die"
Terah means "as dirt(man)"
Abram means "the exalted father"
Nahor means "become weak or die"
Haran means "on the mountain"
Sarai means "the daughter or son (child) of the king"
Milcah means "the wife of the king"

Put into sentence form, it reads:

"The name of the healer and forgiver will rise up. One that will allot to himself the anger and bear it for the sect. The friend and shepherd from this line will become weak as dirt(man). The exalted father will become weak on the mountain for child of the king, for the wife of the king."

Here we have a prophesy that states that a healer and forgiver will rise up. One that will take on himself the anger or punishment from G-d for a group of people that holds to a certain belief. This forgiver will be their friend and shepherd and come from this line or genealogy. He will become weak or die as a man. (Another name for dirt is the Hebrew name, Adam, which means “man”). It also says that G-d will die on the mountain for his daughter or child (Church) and his wife(Israel).

In this prophesy, we find that the Messiah will be a man and G-d. This has to be confusing to some. However, we find that the Y'shua ha Meshiach was and is exacting that 100% man indwelled by 100% G-d for the sole purpose of supplying a perfect sacrifice required for our sins.

One must ask, “Is this prophesy just coincidence or strategically place by G-d for those of us that earnestly seek our G-d....in order to point to the one who will save us?”

The answer is between you and G-d. Let his Spirit guide you.

Genesis 11:3-9 Tower of Babel

“And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people [is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”

Most people, even some Christians, when confronted with the story of Babel, just smile and say it's just a fable. However, as a literalist, I firmly believe that the account is true. I also believe that before it's over, G-d will have the last word.

Also, there many external accounts of the tower of Babel such as the Jewish Historian Josephus, Alexander the Great and the Greek historian Herodotus. Most critics will say that the Herodotus and Alexander accounts are of a “square tower not the biblical round tower”.

This is a great example of where their bias' lay. Take another look at the actual biblical account above. There is no reference to the actual shape or size of the Tower of Babel. Therefore, our sunday school vision of a round tower is most likely incorrect. However, only time will tell.

As for the story of the Tower of Babel, it began with the first dictator, Nimrod, the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, who excited mankind to confront and show contempt of God. Josephus tells us that Nimrod was a tyrant bent on “turning men from the fear of God” and getting them under his rule. Josephus also tells us that “...the multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod and to esteem it a piece of cowardice to submit to God”.

The Mishnah tells us that the Nimrod and those under his sphere of influence was jealous of G-d and his position in the “upper world”.

"God has no right to choose the upper world for Himself, and to leave the lower world to us; therefore we will build us a tower, with an idol on the top holding a sword, so that it may appear as if it intended to war with God" (Gen. R. xxxviii. 7; Tan., ed. Buber, Noah, xxvii. et seq.).

When God saw what they were doing he remembered his promise not to destroy by water. From a new testament perspective, we now know that G-d also was reserving fire for the final punishment. Therefore, he confused their language. That is why it is called the Tower of Babel.

As a side note, here are some interesting facts about the Tower of Babel.

1.Josephus said that the tower was wider than it was high, more like a mountain than a tower.

Gordon, in his book, “Structures or why things don't fall down”, wrote, 'brick and stone weigh about 120 lb per cubic foot (2,000 kg per cubic metre) and the crushing strength of these materials is generally rather better than 6,000 lbf per square inch or 40 megapascals. Elementary arithmetic shows that a tower with parallel walls could have been built to a height of 2.1 km (1.3 mi) before the bricks at the bottom were crushed. However by making the walls taper towards the top they ... could well have been built to a height where the men of Shinnar would run short of oxygen and had difficulty in breathing before the brick walls crushed beneath their own dead weight."

3.The Book of Jubilees mentions the tower's height as being 5,433 cubits and 2 palms, or 2,484 m (8,149.606 ft).

Finally, with all things considered, the Tower of Babel, was most likely in the shape of a pyramid, similar to other large structures at that time, making it more than feasible. It should be noted that this is Babylon which has been the center of demonic and Satanic activity since day one. It will also be the center of Satan's short term earthly rule during the Great Tribulation. Once again and Praise G-d, G-d will have the final word on the subject.

Genesis 11:1-2 One People, One Language.

"And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech."

It always amazes me why translators choose one word over another. When I first read this verse, I wondered why G-d chose to say the same thing twice in one verse. Here, he says that the people were one language and one speech. Isn’t that the same thing? It turns out that it is. Well, it also turns out that the translators got it wrong again. The word, “saw-faw”, translated here as language, should have been translated as people or nation. This is backed up by the Lord in verse 6 when G-d reiterates the same thing.

"And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language..."

Transliterated directly from the original Hebrew, verse one reads as,

“All Earth was united as one people, one language.”

One people directly descended from Noah and his sons. No way to misunderstand that.

"And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there."

This is interesting because the ark landed on the mountain of Ararat in northern Turkey, which is to the north of the land of Shinar, modern day Irag. Here, it says that these people came from the east to the land of Shinar, which would put them originally in modern day Iran. Is this a mistake? No. Once again, we have been taught incorrectly by most modern day teachers and translators. The Bible does not say the mountain of Ararat, but the mountains or hills of Ararat (Genesis 8:4).

The mountain of Ararat is in modern day Turkey. However, the mountains of Ararat stretch from Turkey to Eastern and Northern Iran and on into the Persian Gulf. Another peculiar point is the fact that the word, Ararat is not of Hebraic or Samaritan origin. It is Armenian for Armenia. Therefore, we should read Genesis 8:4 as the mountains or hills of Armenia which include the Ararat, Zagros and Elburz mountains. This puts the ark and the origin of these people in the area ranging from northern Turkey down through Iran to the Persian Gulf and possibly along the southern coastline of the Caspian Sea.

These two verses show why it is so important that we learn the language of the Kingdom, Hebrew. We need to learn the langage so we can understand G-d's Word and get a head start on the one language of the Kingdom because G-d will, again, unite us as a one people with one language in the Kingdom of Heaven.

All people, of all races, shapes and sizes, are descendents from one family. Trace anyones family line and it leads back to Noah and his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Which of the sons are you from?

Genesis 9:18-29 Noahs Nakedness and Hams Shame

"And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread. And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent."

When Adam and Eve fell in the garden, we saw that they lost their innocence and no longer enjoyed the dimensionality that allow them to walk physically with G-d. As a result of the flood, we will see the ages of man begin to diminish. Here we see that Noah drank of the fruit of the vine and got drunk. As a result of the flood, there was no longer a protective covering against the harmful effects of the cosmos. Man and all creation began to degrade quicker. This causes the juice of grapes, or wine, to do something that it probably never done before, that is, ferment. I’m sure that Noah had drank wine before. However, due to the fermentation of the wine, he became drunk.

"And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him."

This incident has been one of speculation within the Christian church for a long time. However, I believe we can look at the text and the Talmud for direction here. First, the text says that, “…Ham…saw the nakedness of his father.” The word translated as “saw” is the Hebrew word, “raw-aw” which means, “to joyfully look unto”. Some scholars indicate that it was a homosexual encounter.

Even though the same words would be used to express a homosexual encounter, I doubt it very much if Ham would have bragged to his brothers about it. No. It is more likely that Ham saw his father naked and drunk and he made fun of it, bringing public humiliation upon his father. As a matter of fact, we can see this in Hams firstborns name, Canaan, which means, “humiliation”.

The main question in my mind is: Why would he humiliate his father? I believe that the Talmud gives us this answer.

“Our Rabbis taught: Three copulated in the ark, and they were all punished — the dog, the raven, and Ham. The dog was doomed to be tied, the raven expectorates [his seed into his mate's mouth], and Ham was smitten in his skin.”

{Talmud Bavli, Sanhedrin 108b}

Here, we have a little history of a punishment given to Ham, as a result of his disobedience within the ark. It doesn’t say it in the Bible, but it implies here in the Talmud that no sexual intercourse was allow while they were in the ark. In this Talmudic entry, we find that Ham had sex with his wife. Once again, some say that this meant that there was some unnatural shenanigans going on between the dog, the raven and Ham, which is physically ludicrous and would have been more plainly laid out within the passage. The three had sex with their mates, which were forbidden. With this history and it’s punishment, it was no wonder that Ham most likely resented it and attempted to humiliate his father. As we will see, it backfired on him.

And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

As a result of Hams sin, his descendants were punished, destined to servants or slaves. Hams punishment was that he had to live with the blame.

"Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died."

Please notice the ages of man begin to reduce from here on out.

Genesis 9:8-17 I Will Not Destroy The World Again?

Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying: "And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth."

As I said in the previous entry, G-d felt bad about destroying the world and all the life in it. However, it was just and had to be done. Here, G-d is promising not to destroy the world again. It amazes me that there are a lot of Christians and others who point to this passage and say, "See. God isn't going to destroy the world again, he's going to transform it."

Well, with many things, the details are in what you decide not to read. Many people read their Bible the same way. They read and absorb the general stuff while ignoring the specifics. Many Christians take in the Faith, Love and Hope message while ignoring the other things. These Christians tend to lose their faith because it is supported by "feel good" theology and not based in the reality of Gods Word. Unfortunately, I feel they are in for a rude awakening.

Anyway, lets' get back to the verse. Yes, G-d does say he is not going to destroy the world again.....BY WATER. See, the specifics are in the details. II Peter, chapter 3 tells us that the world will again be purged, not by water, but by fire.

"...the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men...the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

Fortunately, for us, this fire is part of G-ds wrath in the end times. In I Thessalonians 1:10, We are told that we are not subject to G-ds wrath.

"And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."

Praise G-d for his mercy upon his people.

"And God said: "This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." And God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth."

One thing you can take to the bank is G-d fulfills all his promises. First, not to destroy the world again with a global flood. He put the rainbow in the sky after each rain to signify his promise not to destroy the world by water. Second, to destroy the world and all the unrighteousness in it with fire. Finally, to save us from that wrath.

Praise G-d and pray for those who need him.

Genesis 9:1-7 Your Blood ... Will I Require

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

Once again, God is telling man to be fruitful and fill the earth. Almost like saying, "OK Fellas, let's try this again." As we read this, I'd like to remind you that killing everyone off in the flood bothered G-d a lot. So much that he refuses to do it again, even if man gets himself into the same predicament. More on that in the next blog entry.

From now on, every animal will have a fear of man. Why? Well, for one thing, the next verse.

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

If you are now dinner for every man, wouldn't you have a fear of man? But seriously, G-d created this animousity between man and animal for the same reason that he made it harder for Adam to till the ground for food. It is going to be harder from now on. Also, and most importantly, it is to show man that a blood sacrifice will be needed as a sin offering unto G-d. Also, man sinned, not the animals. This is another sepraration as the result of our sin.

But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

There is no way getting around partaking of the blood when you eat meat. Therefore, you are automatically required to give your life for your sins.

A lot of people will tell you that these verses are telling us not to kill anyone or your life will be required, otherwise, capital punishment. They will include war, accidental and involutary man-slaughter. My answer to that is another question: "Why did G-d gives the laws concerning the Avenger of Blood and the Cities of Refufe? The answer...to point to the Messiah.

Yes it is unlawful to Murder, it is Mitsvah #6 in the Aseret ha-D'varim, or Ten Commandments. However, all we have to do is look at the word and see that it means a willfull, unjustifiable and delibrate act of taking someones life.

Let's look at this verse again. G-d includes not eating the blood of the life you just took. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know G-d is talking about something else here. We will get deeper into this when we get further in the Torah, more specifically the D'varim or Deuteronomy.

Genesis 8:20-22 The First Altar

As mentioned before, there is a law of first mention. Here, we have, for the first time, an altar before G-d.

"And Noah built an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar."

Note to those who teach that Noah brought only two of every animal into the ark: In that is true, then Noah put an end to the species declared as clean. Obviously, Noah didn't take just two of every animal. Instead he took seven pairs of the clean animals. It was for this reason that he did.

Another good point is that Noah must have been super faithful to take of the only animals he and his family was allowed to eat and sacrifice some of them to the Lord. This took an incredible amount of faith that the Lord will provide. This is something a lot of us today lack.

Also, how did Noah know what was clean and what was not? Didn't the concept of clean and unclean come from the law given unto Moses? Obviously, the law was not new but forgotten when it was given to Moses. This is another example that shows that G-d doesn't change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

"And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart..."

True to my nature, I must pause at this point to point out the fact that the Lord enjoys the smell of a good steak cooking on the barbie like a lot of us. :-) LOL.

"I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

It is amazing to hear a lot of Christians still teach that G-d destroyed mankind during the flood because of sin. Right here, it shows that G-d wiped the slate clean for what? Sin? No...because sin continued and continues till today. He wiped the slate clean because the generations of man had become impure. What exactly does that mean? We don't honestly know. A lot of evidence points to the shenanigans that was going on between the fallen angels and mankinds resulting in mutations. However, it will have to be one of those questions we ask the Lord during that first big Bible Study.

Genesis 8:13-19 A Brand New World.

"And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee."

One thing that is consistent throughout the Bible are the numbers and their associated meaning. This is no different. Please notice that there are eight people leaving the ark. Eight is consistently refered to as the number of a new beginning. Here we have a new beginning of man on the earth.

I think it’s also important to notice that God sealed them into the ark but it was man that left at Gods command. This shows that is by God that man is protected and sealed but it is by the sovereignty of man, his freewill, to do as God commands.

Also, it is interesting to note that a lot of dates in Judaism fall on the same date on a regular occurence. This date, the 27th of Ziv, is the celebration of the Liberation of Jerusalem. What do we do with that, I presently don't know. However, I know that there are no coincidences in Gods Word. Wait and see.

Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark..

First of all, this must have been refreshing to God. God commands and man obeys.

Next, one thing that is not mentioned here is the fact that this is an alien world to Noah, his family and all the animals. Scientists believe that the firmament, that was above the earth, created a tropical like environment. As in the tropics today, things act and grew differently. At this point, with the firmament gone, the earths atmospheric pressure was most likely ½ or on it’s way to being ½ of what is was before. Also, the firmament was a protection from all kinds of cosmic rays, such as the suns ultra-violet rays which is responsible for many problems we have today.

Before, the lifespan of the individual man was between 500 and 900 years old. Now, we will see lifespans drop dramatically. This is a direct result our protective covering being gone. We will decay faster and live shorter lives. This lifespan decay continued until the average lifespan dropped to approximately 40 years of age. With the advent of medical science over the last centuries, our lifespan has risen to approximately 70 years. It should not be surprising to find out that the Bible prophesied just that. The Bible prophesied that knowledge would increase. This inevitably lead to advancements in all fields including medical science. However, this also indicates that we are in the end of days.

This is an exciting time. Are we the terminal generation? Are we going to witness the return of our savior? Are we going to see culmination of God salvation plan?

As we study the book of beginnings, we can’t help but look toward the future. A future that the Bible prophesies to be an existence with the God of the universe, our creator and savior. Are you sealed in the promise of God? Do you know for sure that your future is secure? These are questions we need to ask ourselves as we go through our brief existence on this earth.

God gave me a song and in it are the words, “Oh, won’t you come along with me? Let tell you about Jesus.” Let me tell you about Y’shua Ha Mashiach, Jesus Christ, Gods salvation for us all.

Why Did G-d Bless The Third Day Twice?

After a couple of emails asking about the double blessing of the third day of creation, I went back and found that I totally left that out. At best, I alluded to it but did not explain. I apologize. First of all, here are the two entries concerning this time period. They are:

Beginnings Of Man

and

There Went Up A Mist From The Earth

I believe that both Adam and the Garden of Eden were created on the third day. This is according to the scriptures as laid out in the two entries noted above. Adam and the garden were G-d's greatest creation. Therefor, G-d blessed the Third Day twice. On the lighter side, it shows that even G-d doesn't like Mondays. LOL :-)

Genesis 8:5-13 The Big Drain

And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth [month], on the first [day] of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

Keep in mind that the ark has already rested upon the mountains of Ararat. What are we seeing here? Most likely, the rest of the mountain range. I can't help but be a little antagonistic here. The Hebrew word, "Rosh", is used in certain situations to indicate, new, beginning or start of, as in Rosh Hashanah. Could this be interpreted as, "new hills" or "new mountains"? We'll find out when G-d is the one leading the bible study.

And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters [were] on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth [was] an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

Here we have Noah sending out a raven and a dove searching for plant life and they find an olive tree. We also have evidence against a ravaging and horrific flood as indicated by most teachers. How could have trees survive such conditions if it weren't a gentle rise of waters as the bible actually indicates. Noah knew trees survived and was expecting growth to occur immediately after the flood as proven here.

"And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first [month], the first [day] of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry."

I hate to keep beating a dead horse into the ground. However, the dove didn't come back. There was obviously food for the dove to survive upon. Something you wouldn't have if the flood was as violent as most say. But....once again, something I sure G-d will fill us in on at a later date.

Genesis 8:1-4 Did G-d Forget? and What's is Wind?

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that [was] with him in the ark:

Some people will try anything in an attempt to discredit G-d and his Word. This verse is a great example of how desperate some people are. They actually try to skew this verse to say, "If G-d knows everything, how can he forget about Noah?"

Once again, if we go to the Hebrew, we find that the word, translated as "remembered" is the Hebrew word, "zakar", means "to remember". However, just as in the English language, there is a "remember" that means "to recall something you have forgotten". There is also a "remember" that is used to ensure the reader that the person doing the action is now going to return to something that was temporarily put aside.

A good example of this is putting away the dining room centerpiece during dinner or cleaning the table in order to protect it. Then returning it after you are done. You didn't forget about it. You just put it aside for a little bit.

G-d did exactly that. He put Noach, his family and all the animals safely away, and got down to business. Now that his judgement has passed, he will now turn back to them.

"and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;"

Here, we have something happening for the first time in the history of the earth and all mankind. Wind is blowing across the surface of the earth. As mentioned in an earlier blog entry, the earths surface and atmospheric temperatures originally was even across the board. So even, that there weren't any atmospheric pressure change that causes wind to occur.

Now, with the protective firmament gone, the earth will now get the full brunt of the suns rays and thus begins the atmospheric changes we know today. This is also the beginning of the hydrological cycle. Instead of water leaching up through the ground to water everything, there will be rain. This the reason behind the rainbow sign that God set in the sky as a reminder of his promise, but I'm getting ahead of myself. We'll get to more of that in chapter nine.

"The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the earth continually:."

This verse also reaffirms our interpretation from a couple blogs ago. If you remember, G-d caused the earth surface above the firmament underground to rupture, allowing the water to spew upward into the firmament above the earth and so it began to rain from over saturation. Here those fountains slowed to a stop and it stopped raining. Also, as in all floods, the water finds it way to lower elevations.

"and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat."

After an additional 150 days, the water had drained away from the higher elevations it caused, enough to allow the ark to come to rest on what is now the mountains of Ararat. This leads us to a good question. Could the mountains of Ararat have rose up at the same time the waters drained away? The earth after the flood was dramatically different from the earth before the flood. It'll be one of those questions we ask the Lord at a later date.

Genesis 7:17-24 Only 22.5 feet? Hey...that's still a lot of water.

And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

The Hebrew words, naw-saw and haw-lak which are translated as bore and went respectively, shows that the flood was not as violent as often described by others. Nawsaw means, "to pick up in order to cradle or carry away". Hawlak means, "to walk". That doesn't sound like a violent storm to me. This also allows for the sea animals to survive the same way the fish and other water life survives nowaday floods.

And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

Fifteen cubits. Yes...that's only 22.5 feet of water covering the earth. To give a little perspective, that's only two and a half stories of a standard building. Doesn't sound like much but try treading 22.5 feet for over a hundred and fifty days. It's not going to happen. With that said, the text implies that the water gaw-bar or prevailed above the highest hills.

This is usually a major sticking point for our secular readers, even a lot of believers. However, we don't know how high the gaw-bo-ah har or high hills were. Also, it is interesting to note that the median elevation of the earth is approximately 20 feet below sea level. Is it possible that the earth, at the time of the flood, did not have the diverse topography we have today? And that the mountains and valleys were the result of the flood? Even though most secular scientists scoff at this idea, there are others that believe that the geological evidence hints at exactly that. Finally, the most important thing to remember is the fact that neither side can conclusively prove their position. One thing for certain is that this will be one of those questions we will ask the Lord when we go home.

And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Pretty self explanatory. Everything and everyone, that had breath, died, except for Noah and all that was with him in the ark.

And the waters prevailed upon the earth a hundred and fifty days.

The flood waters was upon the earth for a hundred and fifty days. On the surface, this seems pretty simple. It is very interesting to note that the Hebrew word, gawbar, translated here as prevailed, does mean, "to exceed above a certain point". However, an alternate translation could be, "to excert an extreme amount of pressure upon". This has led some to the previously expressed belief that the pressure of the flood waters is responsible for the formation of the mountains and valleys. As I said before, let the Holy Spirit guide you into the truth.

Genesis 7:13-16 The Real Flood...The Bible Version

In this same day Noah and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ark; they, and every animal according to its kind, and every beast according to its kind, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth according to its kind; and every fowl according to its kind, every bird of every wing. And they went in to Noah and to the ark, two and two of all flesh, in which is the breath of life. And those going in went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him. And Jehovah shut him within.

What struck me first in these verses, was the fact that Noah, his family and all the animals went into the ark in one day. Now, that's a logistical nightmare. However, it shows that G-d was involved and all things are possible with G-d.

The other question that arises during a discussion of the Ark and all the animals is, "How in the world did all those animals fit into the ark? I started to begin a long dissertation on the size of the ark and the room that they would have occupied. However, please allow me to point you in the direction of a site that has all the facts.

I have read it and it follows exactly what the scriptures say.

After reading these verses, does anything strike you as funny. What kind of picture of the flood and how it happened do you have in your mind? We know that G-d caused the water from the underground spew upwards and mix with the water that was in the firmament above the sky and it rained down for 40 days and nights. Do you envision massive storms and hurricanes and tidal waves? I don't. I see it happening exactly the way these verses dictate. Yes. It was a heavy rain but there weren't any massive tidal waves and such. It was a flood that happens the same way that a flood occurs in your local area.

I just got done watching a National Geographic show disputing the Noahs Flood. It was a hoot. It showed hurricane and tsunami conditions. They did everything they could to show that the ark, a "primitive vessel", could not, in anyway, survive such horrific conditions. OK. Let's come back to earth. I not saying it was a walk in the park. However, it wasn't Armageddon either. It was a flood from way too much rain. That's it. Pure and simple.

The rain lasted for 40 days and nights. The water covered the earth to approximately 22.5 feet, 6.858 meters. It lasted for 150 days.

Genesis 7:11-12 The Fountains of the Great Deep Blows Their Top. News at Eleven.

And it happened after seven days that the waters of the flood came into being on the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, in the seventeenth day of the month, in this day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened up. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Once again, when we were young, we were told it rained so much, the earth became flooded. However, that’s only half the truth. In these verses, we are told that, “…all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened up.” The fountains of the great deep and the windows of the heavens? What’s that? I think it’s important to remind ourselves what the world looked like prior to the flood, as it was created in the days of Adam.

The earth had land, seas, plant and animal life, pretty much as it is today with a few exceptions. There was no rain. All water came seeping up through the ground which resulted in a mist. Also, there was a canopy of water moisture that surrounded the earth, just above the atmosphere. In these type of conditions, it was most likely a warm, humid place, similar to the amazon today. However, it was a constant temperature due to the canopy. There weren’t any storms and probably very little wind due to very little variation in sunlight, again due to the canopy.

In these verses, we are told that the fountains of the great deep were broken up. How did this happen? Well, with canopy in place, the atmospheric pressure, which is now 14.7 psi, was, at some estimates, approximately 30 psi. Without going through all the Physics, when G-d opened up the canopy, the windows of heaven, the atmospheric pressure would have fluctuated violently until it finally dropped to the 14.7 psi we have today. However, that fluctuation would have resulted in the earths crust heaving violently, thereby causing the giant underground aquifers to spew its contents up into the atmosphere like many fountains.

This water would also have mixture with the moisture in the canopy resulting in a lot of water raining back down on the earth. As this account tells us, it took 40 days and 40 nights for the water to fall back to the earth. This type of upheaval would and did result in a lot of changes to the surface of the earth, including the grand canyon. You won’t about this in todays classroom because it goes against the evolutionist agenda, that is to deny any possible references to a creator. However, if you look at all the facts, you can’t deny the possibily of a designer, that is our Lord and G-d.

Genesis 7:1-10: Come, my people, enter into your rooms…?

For in seven more days I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights. And I will destroy from off the face of the earth every living thing that I have made. And Noah did according to all that Jehovah commanded him. And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. And Noah went in. And his sons and his wife and his sons' wives went in with him into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

It is interesting that G-d wants us to make note of how long after he tells Noah to come into the ark that the flood waters were to come. That is seven days. He also wants up to know that Noach is 600 years old when the flood came. If you are of the camp of those who feel that there’s more to the text than meets the eye, this should be a red flag.

Could these seven days be a foreshadowing of the 70th week of Daniel, the seven years of tribulation that comes at the end of days? We will look at that as another level of understanding, when we finish the account of Noah. But for now, this is very straight forward. G-d tells Noach to come into the ark, because in seven days, he will bring judgement upon all the earth.

This reminds me of Isaiah 26:20-21.

Come, my people, enter into your rooms and shut your doors around you; hide for a little moment, until the fury has passed by. For behold, Jehovah comes out of His place to punish the people of the earth for their iniquity; the earth also shall reveal her blood, and shall no more cover her dead.

Again, could this be a model or foreshadowing of our future?

Of the clean animals, and of the animals that were not clean, and of the fowls, and of everything that creeps on the earth, two by two they went in to Noah into the ark, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

As children, we were told that Noach went out and gathered all the animals. However, it shows here that the animals went into the ark on their own fruition. I, for one, believe that it was G-d that told the animals to go into the ark. It’s also interesting to note that the animals went into the ark in an orderly fashion. When we see animals herded, it’s never in an orderly fashion. Another sign of the supernatural power of G-d.

Genesis 7:1-3 Two Of Every Animal??? I Don't Think So.

”And Jehovah said to Noah, You and all your house come into the ark, for I have seen you righteous before Me in this generation. You shall take with you every clean animal by sevens, the male and female. And take two of the animals that are not clean, the male and female. Also take of the fowls of the air by sevens, the male and the female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.”

It’s interesting to note that G-d tells Noach, Noah to come into the ark, not go into the ark. This is very important as to recognizing the model of the ark. Again, as we go through this account of the flood, please take notice of the aspects of the ark in order to determine who or what does this ark represent.

”…for I have seen you righteous before Me in this generation”

Wow. Can you imagine G-d saying that to you? Noah was righteous and perfect in his generation. Remember, G-d said the same thing in Genesis 6:9. What does G-d mean by that? Was Noach, Noah sinless? No. However, this is referring back to when the B’nai Elohim came down and corrupted the lineage of man, with the daughters of man, and bore the Nephylim. There was none of that in Noahs lineage. Therefore, G-d said that Noah was perfect in his generations and was the perfect vessel to carry on the Messianic line.

” You shall take with you every clean animal by sevens, the male and female.”

Wait a second….Weren’t we taught that Noach took only two of every animal into the ark, not seven pairs. Yes. This is one of those traditional teachings that is out and out wrong. Back in Genesis 6:20, didn’t G-d say to take two of every animal? Isn’t this a contradiction.? No. The Hebrew word, Shetahyim, is used to either imply two or pairs. Therefore, in Genesis 6:20, G-d said to take pairs or couples of every animal. Here, in Genesis 7:2, he defines it a little better for Noach. He wants him to take couple, male and female, into the ark. However, of the clean animals, G-d wants seven couples of each.

It says here, “…to keep seed alive…” That understandable. But why the seven pairs? This is due to the fact that all the plant life will be completely gone immediately after the flood. It'll take some time to regrow the plant life and Noach and his family will have to eat. They will also need animals as sacrifice unto G-d. Therefore, clean animals will be needed for both food and acceptable sacrifices.

But, wait a second. Clean and unclean? Sacrifices? Isn’t that part of the Mosaic Law, a Jewish thing? No. That is a misnomer perpetuated by todays Christian church. Yes….G-d gave the law to Moses. However, the law was known by man long before Abraham and his offspring, as evident here. G-d used the Abraham and his Jewish seed to bring the law back to common knowledge. We’ll get further into that as we go along.

I would like to introduce a concept that may be foreign to you. We have heard that the Jews were the chosen people of G-d and that is true, always have and always will. But, what does that mean? As we go further along, you will find that the Jews were not picked to be an exclusive people unto G-d, but the exclusive people through which G-d would bring his salvation to the world. That may sound the same to you but it is not. Even though the my Jewish brothers attempted to keep the law and G-d to themselves, G-d had other plans, to bring salvation, by way of a Jewish man, a perfect Jewish man to offered up as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. That man, according to the scriptures, was also G-d himself, Yeshua, our Messiah.

Genesis 6:18-22 The First Covenant

But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

What is not easily seen here is the fact that Noach, Noah, does all that G-d says to do without knowing the specifics of the covenant. Again.....what faith. How many of us would do that just on G-d Word? In a way, we do that as believers in the Messiah. We are relying on life everlasting based on G-ds Word, which is Yeshua.

Notice that these scriptures say, "two of sort thou shalt bring into the ark." Traditionists appear to only have read this verse in preparation for teaching thier children. As we will find out, there were more than two of every sort, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Finally, this is the first covenant in the bible. So what's so important. In these verses, it's not told to us. However, we are told that salvation from the deadly flood can be found by taking refuge in the ark. I'll give you a hint. As we go through the account of Noach, Noah, think about the aspect of the ark and how it resembles G-d future salvation for mankind.

Genesis 6:14-17 An Ark? Why? For The Flood? What's a Flood?

Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

Here G-d is telling Noah to build an Ark to house every specie of animal and the eight members of his immediate family, Noah, his wife, three sons and their wives. In case, you haven't studyied cubits before, the ark was 450 feet, 137.16 meters long, 75 feet, 22.86 meters wide and 55 feet ,17.76 meters tall. In the United States, that's 1.5 times the size of a football field and five feet taller than a five story building. That's incredible and a monumental task and it took him approximately 120 years to do it.

Another interesting aspect of the ark is the requirement of having in pitched on the inside and outside. The Hebrew word for pitch is kofer, which means a covering, redemption, a redemptive price and a sum of money.

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth,...

The other incredible thing about the account of Noah and the ark is what is not mentioned here, Noahs response to the flood. I'm sure Noah knew what a flood was, but it had to run through his mind on how there was going to be enough water to flush out all of mankind. Up to that time, G-d nourished the earth with water and a mist that rose up from the ground. Humans had no idea what was rain. Think about it, to build an ark, without fathoming a flood that would require it and all the ridecule from his neighbors, took a lot of faith.

...to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Some estimates have the worlds population in this pre-flood world at approximately 10 billion people. I don't care how faithful you are, that's a lot of people to have on your conscious. That's not including all the animals and property damage. Think about it. All those people and animals die and you and your family survive. Isn't that the way the world thinks? However, Noah had the right frame of mind. The same frame of mind, we should have. G-d is righteous and holy and has every right to lay down the law and the ramifications for not following it.

We know that G-d says that death is required for all who are disobedient. However, we have a savior who was sent to this earth to die for our sins, that is Yeshua ha Mashiach, the perfect lamb sacrifice for all mankind.

Do you except the sacrifice provided by G-d?

Genesis 6:6-13 Meet YHWH...The Father

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

In studying the scriptures, there is a law of first mention. It says that something is usually important, the first time something or someone is mentioned. The reason I bring this up is that this verse is the first time יהוה YHWH, exclusively makes a decision, as יהוה YHWH, not Elohim. Yes, G-d is multidimensional and is made up of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit and much more. G-d is far more than what he reveals to us. However, there is a hierarchy to G-d. There is a dimension to G-d that has the final say so and that is the Father, יהוה YHWH.

No. That doesn't mean that the other dimensions to G-d, ie:Yeshua, The Holy Spirit, are subserviant. In the same way that the mind cannot live without the body or the soul, the Father isn't complete without the Son or the Spirit.

With that said, what makes the first time YHWH being mention so important? Up to now, all things done by G-d was done by the fullness of G-d or Elohim. Here, the Father, without the Son or Spirit, is making the decision to destroy all mankind, except Noah. Some believe, as do I, that this is when the Father first revealed his plan of salvation to Yeshua, including the need for him to become a man, live a sinless life, die a horrible death and worst of all, be separated from the Father.

Is this pure conjecture. As always, there are reasons, some feel this way. As we go through the story of Noah and the flood, we'll go over the reasons why some feel this way and how this account models the G-ds Plan of Salvation. All I ask is let G-ds Holy Spirit be your guide.

Genesis 6:1-4 B'nai Elohim and the Nephilim

And it happened, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and when daughters were born to them, sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves from all whom they chose. And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days. And also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore to them, they were mighty men who existed of old, men of renown.

******ALERT******ALERT******ALERT******ALERT******

We are going to get into some things that are weird and totally disputed by mainstream Christianity. One more thing before we get into the text.

Why is it that mainstream Christianity always wants to down play the supernatural. Isn't G-d supernatural? Isn't denying the supernatural, in effect, denying G-d? OK. I'll get off my soapbox and get to the text.

When the population of man began to increase, the "b'nai Elohim (sons of G-d) rawaw or looked at the daughters of man. Not translated into english is the Hebrew word, eth. As we discussed in earlier blogs, eth is used to emphasize either the subject or the object specifically. In our vernacular, it should be written as, "The B'nai
Elohim or sons of G-d really looked longingly, lustfully at the daughters of man."

This brings up the question, "Who were the sons of G-d?". Everytime b'nai Elohim was used in the scriptures, it directly referred to angels. Job 1:5, Job 2:1, Job 38:7. There are five times, sons of G-d is used in the B'rit Hadashah, the new testament and that is Rom 8:14, Rom 8:19, Gal 4:6, Php 2:15 and 1John 3:1-2. In the B'rit Hadashah, it refers to you and me, the holy men and women of G-d, true believers.

So, who were these sons of G-d? Our lone clue is what their offspring looked like. They were giants. How many human offspring were giants? The only other candidate were angels. But what about Matt 22:30.

"For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven."

My answer to that is...that's true about obedient angels. How about the disobedient ones?

For me, the final clue was the giants. In Hebrew, the word giants, used here, is nephilim, which come from nafal, which means the fallen ones. The b'nai Elohim were fallen angels who took the daughters of man as their own. Fallen angels were bad enough, the fall of man pushed G-d to anger. However, the two coming together to produce unholy offspring pushed G-d to declare that all of mankind had 120 years to repent. We know they didn't. 120 years later came a world wide flood that destroyed all mankind except for eight people and a whole lot of animals. But, that's for the next few blogs.

Genesis 5:1-2 Revisited

"This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them. And He called their name man in the day when they were created."

I’ve had a few emails ask basically the same questions.

“Doesn’t these verses prove that Adam and man, as mentioned so far in Genesis, one and the same?”

“Doesn’t this prove that God created Adam and the rest of mankind came from him?”

I agree, on the surface, the view of two separate creations, one of Adam and a separate one of man and female, appears to be in jeopardy. However, a closer look at the text reveals the bias of the translators.

Let’s perform an exegesus of the troubling verses. Before I go any further, even though I’m going to include the transliteration of the original Hebrew, I am going to keep them in the order written in English in order to ease the troubleshooting of the verse.

First of all, “This is the book of the generations of Adam.” is pretty straight forward. The genealogy following these verses, is all about Adam and his offspring, no one else.

Now comes the first evidence of biased translating.

“In the day that God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.”

In Hebrew, it is:

yom Elohim bara adam d’muth Elohim asah

Now let’s perform a word for word translation.

yom means day.
“Yom” can either imply a specific day or and era. This is the reason, “In the day…” was used.

Elohim means G-ds
“Elohim” Implies the multidimensionality of G-d in the form of the Father, Son and Spirit.but as “echad”, one

bara means created.
“Bara” implies creation out of nothing or the basic elements, usually a specific creation. In this case, specifically Adam referring back to the “This is the book of the generations of Adam.” Section of the verse.

adam means man
Even though pronounced the same, this is not the same as “Adam”, the name of the first man.

d’muth means likeness.
Used prior to a noun of whom the likeness was. This is the reason for the translators to use “…in the likeness of”

Elohim means G-ds.
Same as above.

Asah means created.
This "created" is different from “bara” in that is a general creation usually in the plural.

More correctly, the verse so far should have been translated as:

“This is the book of the generations of Adam, who G-d created in the day G-d made man in the likeness of G-d.”

Notice that the word, “him” isn’t in or even implied in the original Hebrew. The addition of “him” changes the meaning of the verse.

Let’s do the same with the rest of the verse.

"zakar nekaybaw bara barak kawraw eth shame Adam yom bara"

zakar means male

nekaybaw means female

bara means created

barak means praise, kneel before in adoration. Can be used in reverse.

kawraw means to call one out

eth not translated in English, but used to “specifically” point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IN UNDERSTANDING THIS VERSE.

Let’s put it all together,

“This is the book of the generations of Adam, who G-d created in the day G-d made man in the likeness of G-d. Male and female was created to kneel in adoration. Called out was one specifically named Adam, in the day “he was” created”.

If you translate word for word, you get an unbiased translation. But don’t take my word for it, dig into it yourself. Let G-ds Holy Spirit guide you.

Genesis 4:24-5:32 Boring Genealogies? Part Two

And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, [said she], hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.i>

We now switch back to Adam and his line, the Messianic line. The words "to call upon" could be translated as "to profane". As we study the account of Noah, let the Spirit guide you to which is more correct and compliments the account.

I normally don't include this many verses to read, but it is necessary.

If we put it together, we get:

Man is indeed appointed an incurable mortal (temporary) sorrow, but the Blessed G-d shall descend and teach that his death shall bring the despairing, rest and peace.

So cool. We have the first time the gospel of G-d shows up in a cryptic form that only the beloved of G-d will receive as a prophecy of G-ds salvation plan. However, the complete message is when we put the genealogy of Adam and Cain together.

Get over your sorrow quickly and teach the hidden things of those who are in love with and belong to G-d. That is, the despairing shall have a covering or mark that should be displayed with great joy. Rejoice descendants of Cain, be at peace. Indeed, man is appointed an incurable mortal (temporary) sorrow, but the Blessed G-d shall descend and teach that his death shall bring the despairing, rest and peace.

You see the message is not only for the beloved of G-d but all who will come and accept the blood offering of G-d. G-d is offering his blood covering for all mankind. All we have to do is accept it.

In the same way Moses lifted up the serpent in the dessert, so shall the Son of Man be lifted up. That whosoever looks upon him and believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life, a covering. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever looks to him and believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Genesis 4:17-24 Boring Genealogies? Part One

And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. And Irad was born to Enoch. And Irad fathered Mehujael. And Mehujael fathered Methusael. And Methusael fathered Lamech. And Lamech took two wives to himself. The name of the first one was Adah, and the name of the other was Zillah. And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents, and with cattle. And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those playing the harp and the organ. And Zillah also bore Tubalcain, the hammerer of every engraving tool of bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. And Lamech said to his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, wives of Lamech, listen to my speech. For I have killed a man because of my wound, and a young man because of my hurt. For Cain is avenged seven times, and Lamech seventy-seven times.

How many times have you come to a genealogy and got glossy-eyed from boredom? This one isn't bad. How about when you got into the book of Numbers? I used to think, "What a snoozer." However, ever since a great bible teacher, by the name of Chuck Missler, taught me how to allow the Holy Spirit to guide me through the scriptures, it's been a different story. It the case of genealogies, we need to find out what is the root meaning of every name and lo and behold, a supernatural message to those who are willing to diligently search out G-d. The first message says exactly that. Let's look at the names and their meanings of the first genealogy, the genealogy of Cain.

Putting it all together, we get the following message:

Get over your sorrow quickly and teach the hidden things of those who are in love with and belong to G-d. That is, the despairing shall have a covering or mark that should be displayed with great joy. Rejoice descendants of Cain, be at peace.

Wow. Here, we are told not to wallow in our sin, but to reveal to others that we have a covering, which was supplied to us by the blood of Yeshua. We are not only to reveal but to eagerly share G-ds salvation plan (his covering for us) with others.

In Proverbs 25:2, it is written:

[It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings [is] to search out a matter.

In Revelation 1:6, we are told:

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

These two verses tell us that we are kings and G-d has hidden things for our pleasure. We have a responsibility and honour to seek them out and share them.

Genesis 4:12-16 Where Did The People Come From?

When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment [is] greater than I can bear.

Cain, the first murderer, is also the first man to be ousted completely out of the presence of the Lord. Think about it. Even Adam and Eve, who were kicked out of the garden, still were in the presence of the Lord. Cain knew what was about to happen and for the first time in his existence, he didn't know what the future had in store for him. The one thing he did know for sure was that the other people would do him harm. Why?

Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, [that] every one that findeth me shall slay me.

What people? Why would these people do him harm? How did Cain know that without a doubt these people would slay him? The answer? Because these people, who were created on the sixth day, also enjoyed living in a sinless environment and in the presence of G-d. They also would have enjoyed life everlasting if it weren't for Cains parents. However, they are now living under a death curse because of Cains mother and father. I'd be afraid for my life too.

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

It's amazing that G-d would still protect Cain after what he's done...but he does. This begs the question, why? I would understand if the Messianic line, through which we are saved and bored Yeshua, but it doesn't. The Messianic line goes through Seth.

I believe the answer is that G-d wanted to keep Satan and he cohorts guessing as to how his plan of salvation was going to pan out. This was one of those times that G-d was winking at those of us who are given the gift of knowledge of his Word. More on this as we travel through G-ds Word.

And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Nod means wandering. All wanderers, including you and me, are descendents of Cain. The good news is that G-d is calling us back via the descendents of Seth which produce the human Messianic line and the path of our salvation. Praise G-d for the Messiah and his perfect sacrifice for our sins which will finally put an end to our wandering.

Genesis 4:11 Creation Cries Out

And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

I have always said that there was more to this story than meets the eye. The word translated here as “opened” is the Hebrew word “paw-tsaw'” which means to rend, to tear as a sign of anger, grief, or despair. We often over look creation and the ramifications to it because of our sin. We won’t know for sure until we go home, but I wouldn’t be surprised if all of creation is alive and cognitive of what’s going on. I’m reminded of the following two verses.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Romans 8:22-23

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Luke 19:39-40

There is much more to G-ds creation. I wouldn’t be surprise to see all of creation bowing before G-d while we praise him.

However, here we don’t have creation worshiping but crying out in agony and pain for the first recorded and violent murder in the history of mankind.

Genesis 4:8-10 Part Two: The Avenger of Blood and The Cities of Refuge.

Last time, I ended with a pretty bold statement, that your salvation depends on knowing the difference between manslaughter and premeditated murder and how the law looks at it. Lets first look at what the bible says about the punishment of those who kill another.

“Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he the man”

Genesis 9:6

Here we have G-d decreeing that murderers were to forfeit their own lives: However, and more definitively, in Exodus 21:12-14,22-23; Leviticus 24:17; Numbers 35:16-21, the law requires the death penalty in cases of premeditated murder. In either case, a close relative could avenge his death whether it was manslaughter or premeditated murder. It was his right. As a matter of fact, the victim's nearest relative was expected to avenge his death. The nearest relative is called the Go'el ha dam", the Avenger of Blood.

His duties included avenging the death of the near relative and redeeming the property or the person of a relative that had fallen into debt. We’ll go further into detail about the Go’el when we get to the book of Ruth. However, in the case of unintentional homicide, which we call manslaughter, the Cities of Refuge were set up. Six Cities of Refuge were provided for those who killed without any forethought or on accident. They could live there without fear, without any retaliation, until the reigning High Priest died, provided that they could prove their case of manslaughter to the judges or elders who sat at the gate (Num. 35: 9-34; Deut. 19: 1-13 and Joshua 20). After the High Priest died, he was free of all punishment.

Before we go any further, I need to remind everyone of John 5:39 and Matthew 5:17.

” Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

” Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. ”

When Adam and Eve disobeyed G-d, they introduced a death curse for all their descendants. The death curse of sin required the blood sacrifice of an innocent for the redemption of Adam and Eve and all their descendants, including you and me. That innocent sacrifice was Yeshua, who died on the altar of G-d. However, Yeshua was a human being and the Son of G-d requiring the next of kin to avenge his death. Our sins made us responsible for the murder of Yeshua on the cross. Therefore, G-d has every right to be the Avenger of Blood and avenge his death upon us.

The beautiful thing is what Yeshua said upon that altar.

” Then said Jesus, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

Luke 12:34

We didn’t know that our sins were responsible for Yeshuas death. Therefore, that made his murder, manslaughter, and qualified us for refuge within the City of Refuge. We are due to be avenged for his death unless we take refuge in Yeshua, our City of Refuge. How long? Until the High Priest dies. Yeshua is our High Priest and he died upon the cross making us free from retribution. Praise G-d!! Yeshua is the Word, the Word is Yeshua.

You see. It is important to understand the difference between manslaughter and premeditated murder because the difference saves your mortal soul. Also, understanding the Word of G-d requires knowing how it models the Son of G-d, Yeshua. The more you read and realized this is true, the more you realized that Yeshua is who he said he was. The Messiah and Savior of all mankind.

Genesis 4:8-10 Part One. The First Murder???

And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. And Jehovah said unto Cain, Where is your brother Abel? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper? And He said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to Me from the ground.

Two interesting concepts are found within these verses. One, the concept of murder and two, there's more than meets the eye than our myopic view of G-ds creation.

There are a lot of teachers that teach that this was the first murder. There are an equal amount that teach that Adam and Eve entering into the curse was the first murder. My question...which one is it? Are they both murder? Before I answer that, let me ask another question.

Situation #1. You inadvertently poison person number one. It takes person number one ten years to die. However, by poisoning person number one, you inadvertently cause person number ones offspring to die prematurely. Are you guilty of murder?

Situation #2. You deliberately shoot person number two and person number two dies instantly. Are you guilty of murder?

This is important. We need to know how G-d looks at these two type of situations. Believe it or not, your salvation depends on it. Were they both murder? In G-ds eyes, no. In situation number one, it is involuntary manslaughter. You didn't know the full ramifications of your actions. However, in situation number two, it is premeditated murder.

Was this the first murder? Yes. What difference does it make? Well...that requires a look into the law concerning the cities of refuge and the avenger of blood which will be in the next blog entry. Again...Believe it or not, your salavation depends on it.

Genesis 4:1-7 The Good Offering

"And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

As we read this section, we wonder why Abels offering was better than Cains. First of all, in the text we find that both gave the fruits of his work. However, Abel gave the firstborn while it appears that Cain gave what was leftover. This is backed up with G-ds comment of:

"If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?"

The Hebrew word yatab translated here as "doest well" is better translated as "do as expected".

If Cain would have done what was expected, then his offering would have been accepted. However, Cain gave his tithe. Who cares if it wasn't the first of what he had? Because G-d expects to be first and foremost in our lives. Anything else shows that you have put something else ahead of G-d. This story is all about idol worship.

If you put anything ahead of G-d then you are an idol worshipper.

You are of the lineage of Cain.

G-d wants you to be of the lineage of Abel, one who gives to G-d as an initial thought not a second thought. Who are you?

So what does G-d mean by, "...and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

It means that if you are of the lineage of Cain, sin will reign over you.

However, if you are of the lineage of Abel, then you will rule over sin.

Genesis 3:16-24 Cursed and Kicked Out

”To the woman He said, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bear sons, and your desire shall be toward your husband, and he shall rule over you. “

A lot of people cling to the fact that Adam holds the responsibility for being the first to sin. However, it was Eve that sinned first and it was Eve that received the first punishment, or was it to or through Eve?

Notice in the first part of the curse. In most Bibles, the Hebrew word, האשׁה , nawsheem, is translated as “the woman”. In reality it should be translated as women. As an example, notice the difference between the two Hebrew words, האשׁה , nawsheem, women used here in genesis 3:16 and לאשׁה, ish-shaw, woman as used in Genesis 3:13. In Genesis 3:13, G-d was talking directly to Eve, while in Genesis 3:16, he was talking about women in general.

What does this mean? It means that because of Eves sin, all women will suffer the ramifications. This illumination of G-ds Word also gives us insight as to the age old question, “Why was Cain so afraid of the other people on Earth when G-d kicked him out of the protected environment of his mother and father?” Cain knew what had happened to mankind as a result of his mother and fathers sin. He was afraid of what the others would do to him as a result. We’ll go further into it when we get to the story of Cain and Abel.

What were the ramifications of Eves sin and resulting curse? All future childbirth would be physical, not spiritual as it had been up to that moment in time. In physical childbirth, there will be great pain. This is a great difference from the “no pain” spiritual childbirth they had been experiencing. In addition, to the painful childbirth, womens desire would be toward their husband. The word, desire, is the Hebrew word, teshookaw, which means to yearn for ones affection or protection.

In the spiritual realm, man and woman were of equal stature. However, from this moment on, women would be physically inferior to men. Now does that mean that men would be superior overall to woman? No. However, as a result of Eves sin, women would suffer the punishment of being physically inferior, that’s all. Therefore, women would physically require mans physical protection in this world.

Are there exceptions? Yes. As sin continues to degrade our physical DNA, you will see mutations where women take on the characteristics of a man and visa-versa. However, as a rule, women will be physically inferior to men and be ruled or dominated by them. Will it be that way in the Kingdom of G-d? No. The effects of sin on our post resurrection bodies will be no more. Requiring mans protection would be a constant reminder of what had happen and what would be required for the salvation of their souls.

”And to Adam He said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it! The ground is cursed for your sake. In pain shall you eat of it all the days of your life. It shall also bring forth thorns and thistles to you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return. “

The same thing here. As a result of Adam listening to his companion, all mankind would now suffer the consequences of his actions. Instead of G-d supplying all their needs, all mankind would have to work for it. It wouldn’t be easy, for G-d will now allow obstacles to be in the way. Thus begins the human physical cycle of birth, life and death and eventual return to the ground from which we came. However, keep in mind that physical death from sin is the only thing we will experience as human beings. Spiritual life or death is nothing like what we experience in our physical bodies and depends solely on our relationship with the one who created us in the first place.

”And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. “

Simply put, all physical life as we know it began with Adams companion. Therefore, he named her Eve which means mother of all living.

”And for Adam and his wife God made coats of skins, and clothed them. “

An interesting point missed by most commentators. Why did G-d give them clothing when they already had fig leaves. I heard some commentators say that this was G-d caring for them. He knew that the fig leaves would not last very long therefore he made them coats of skin. That sounds very practical and most likely is true. However, it’s pretty naïve and shows their lack of understanding of G-ds Word. It also reveals the reason why most believers are in the condition they’re in. Most commentators are teachers and/or preachers and their shallow understanding comes through thier teaching. Simply put, if they are saying this is the only reason, then they are not digging deep into G-ds Word and thereby leading those who “follow” them along a shallow path that will not lead them to a close relationship with the G-d of the universe.

The main reason G-d gave them coats of skins was to show them that they cannot cover themselves. Also, coats of skins required G-d to shed the blood of an innocent animal in order to cover them. Even though the Bible doesn’t tell us what animal G-d sacrificed for their skins, I would not be surprised if it was a lamb. The sacrifice of an innocent in order to cover them models the exact same thing that G-d will do for all mankind approximately 4000 years later on a cross.

”And God said, Behold, the man has become as one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever, therefore Jehovah God sent him out from the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he had been taken. And He drove out the man. And He placed cherubs at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. “

”… has become as one of Us… “ has led a lot of people down an erroneous path of understanding. The word, us, is not in this verse or even implied. With it in there, it implies that as soon as we know the difference between good and evil, or obedience and disobedience, we become like G-d. No. Emphatically…No. This verse should simply read ”And God said, Behold, the man has become as one to know good and evil.” or “one that knows the difference between obedience and disobedience. ” This verse simply says that man, knowing the difference between obedience and disobedience, doesn’t have a right to the tree of life and should be kicked out. Therefore G-d kicked him out.

” And He placed cherubs at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. “

This has always been interesting to me. Obviously, G-d didn’t want man to enter back into the garden. So much, that G-d put super angels at the east entrance in order to prevent re-entry. This begs the questions: If the cherubs weren’t guarding the entrance, could we re-enter the garden? I think so. I believe that we will enter G-ds Kingdom through Edens eastern gate.

Genesis 3:14-15. The First Curse and The First Prophesy

"And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

There is a point when G-d will turn completely away from you and refuse any reconciliation. Satan, the serpent, has now reached that point. First, Pride and disobedience rose up in Satan and then he lead a rebellion against G-d. I firmly believe that up to this point in time, that G-d would have forgiven his prodigal son. However, Satan had shown a propensity to continue to sin and drag as many others as he can with him, basically a total disregard of G-d and his ways. As a side note, the same can be said about our relationship with G-d.

Can we sin so much that it is beyond G-d to forgive us? No. Is there a point where we can show a total disregard of G-d and his ways and be shunned by G-d? Yes. The Scriptures clearly point this out. This is why I started this ministry, to break down the walls of ungodly traditional teaching and get back to the basic truth of G-d. Let me finish this thought by saying that you and I have no clear idea where G-d will draw that line. Therefore, it would benefit us greatly to continually and truthfully evaluate ourselves according to the Scriptures and turn our back on traditional paganistic thought.

Here in this verse, G-d has had enough and cursed Satan. From that point on, there was no redemption for Satan. He was cursed and G-d turned his back on him. At the risk of repeating myself, we cannot let ourselves get to that point. Turn away from Satan and his ways and turn to G-d and Salvation through his perfect sacrifice, Yeshua.

Amongst this curse, we find the first prophecy of G-ds Word. A prophesy of a battle between the seed of those who seek redemption and those who follow Satan. Even here we find a oddity. In Judaism, all seed is through the father of the family. However, here we find that the seed of our redemption will be through the woman. This is a dual prophesy. First the battle between the followers of Satan and of G-d second that our salvation will come through the woman. The only way the seed can be passed through the woman is by a virgin birth. This was reiterated in Isaiah 7:12.

"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

This is a prophesy of the virgin birth of our Messiah, Yeshua.

Also, through the years, Adam has been the fall-guy, no pun intended. But as we have seen, it was through Eve and Satan that sin entered into this world. Adam, who represented what the future Messiah would do, entered freely into sin on the behalf of his bride. This can be seen in the following verses. The only verses within the Bible that references Adam and the first sin. I challenge you to prove otherwise.

"And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."

1 Timothy 2:14

"Nevertheless death reigned from the time of Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Romans 5:14

Notice, "over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression". This is a reference to those seek salvation through the likeness of Adams (The Messiahs)transgression (entering freely into sin for the salvation of others). This verse says that death will reign over all people, even those who seek Adams (The Messiahs) method of salvation. This is physical death not spiritual death. We are appointed once to die a physical death. However, through the similitude of Adam, the Messiahs death on the altar of G-d, we have spiritual immortality. Hallelujah.

This is what the scriptures teach. However, and unfortunately, most traditional christian thought has taught otherwise. I wonder why.

Genesis 3:10-13 I Was Afraid And Hid Myself

"And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself."

Did G-d know where Adam and Eve were? Yes. Once again, G-d was giving Adam an opportunity to come clean on his own free will. That alone shows that G-d has mercy. If not, G-d would have slammed Adam and Eve right then and there.

Was Adam and Eve naked before they disobeyed G-d? Yes. All pre-fall creatures had something we don’t and that is special covering of the Holy Spirit. All pre-fall creatures were clothed in light. In fact, when Satan was created, he was called the shining one. Adam and Eve enjoyed a dimensionality that they lost when they disobeyed. That dimensionality included a clothing of light or righteousness. With the covering of light of righteous gone, they could see their shame. We will once again have that permanent clothing of light when we get our new bodies in the Messiah. Presently, the blood of the Messiah, the perfect sacrifice, now acts as a temporary / permanent covering. When the Father looks at us, the Remnant, he doesn’t see our shame or sin, but only the blood of the true light and his righteousness.

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

It appears that Adam was going to blame it all on Eve. However, this is proof that Satan did not tempt Adam directly. Satan tempted Eve and Eve gave the fruit to Adam. Adam freely took of the fruit. As we discuss in an earlier blog, he did it out of love for Eve. He entered into the sinful nature for his, can we say, bride. This was a vision of what Y’shua would do for his bride. He became sin for his bride. As a side note, all the questions were to see if Adam and Eve would come clean or continue disobedience. Thank the Lord that they laid it all out or confess their sins. This reminds me of I John 1:9.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Also, notice that it was Adam interceding for Eve. Again, that is what Y'shua does and will do for us before the throne of G-d. Y'shua was the second Adam and he became sin for us, his bride. Therefore, feel free to continually go before the throne of G-d and confess your sins. He has already forgiven us. We are covered by the blood sacrifice of Y'shua on the alter we call the cross.

Aren’t you glad that we don't have to hide ourselves from G-d?

What a merciful G-d we have!

Genesis 3:7-9 Adam.... Where Art Thou?

"And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou?

This verse has sparked controversy throughout the years. Non-believers point to this and say that there are errors in the bible. They say that the bible indicates that G-d knows all things and this verse shows he had no idea where Adam and Eve were.

First of all let’s set the record straight aboutG-d. I John 3:18-20 states:

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.”

G-d knows all things. However, does G-d allow things to occur on a daily basis without taking notice of them? ….Or…. Does G-d choose to not to remember things? The answer to both is yes. A good example is the fact that because we live in him, he chooses not to remember our sins no more. Hallelujah!!!! Beruch Y’Shua!!!! That’s G-d way of forgiveness. Also, he doesn’t intervene in our daily lives until he is asked.

With that said, here in this verse there were two possible going on.

1. G-d chose not to perceive what was going on in order to allow Adam his free will.

Or

2. G-d perceived what had happened and was giving Adam and Eve a choice. They had to choose whether to continue to disobey and come running at the sound of his voice.

We have that same choice today. Will you come running at the sound of G-ds voice or continue to hide from him and wallow in your sin?

If G-d chooses not to perceive what is going on in our lives, it doesn't mean he doesn’t love us. No. G-d chooses not to perceive in order to allow us our free will. However, G-d can and will remember at a moments notice what has happened if you call on his name.

Will he intervene? Yes. He always does. He just doesn’t always respond in our time and the way we want all the time. Don’t get angry as the world does and claim he doesn’t exist. Remember and rest in the fact the Father knows best.

Genesis 3:7 The Covering. Part One.

"And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

The phrase “the eyes of them both were opened” is “paw-kakh ah'-yin shet-tah'-yim” which means that their conscience was laid bare. Traditional thought has taught that it was their literal eyes were open. No. It was that their minds were opened to the concept of disobedience. The phrase “…and they know that they were naked” means that they were aware of and ashamed of their disobedience.

We should keep in mind that it wasn't the fruit that made them fall. It was the fact that they disobeyed a direct commandment from G-d. It could have easily been, "Don't pick the flowers".

Now come the interesting part. They made themselves a covering to hide their shame. There have been many sermons indicating that the fruit, which they ate, was an apple. Unfortunately, that comes from an erroneous Latin interpretation of the scriptures. If we back up and look at the whole counsel of G-d. There is one tree that is constantly withering, cursed or brought back to reconciliation, and that is the fig tree. This makes sense when you see that Adam and Eve attempted to hide their shame with the source of the disobedience.

I challenge you to perform a study of fig trees throughout the scriptures. I’m sure that it will be fruitful. ;-) Sorry for the pun, couldn’t resist the temptation. ;-) Better stop while I’m ahead.

Genesis 3:2-6 : The Three Stages of Temptation and An Incredible Act of Love

And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

As we ended last time, we see that Satans tactics have been the same since the beginning. In one form or another, he will tempt you with the following atatements:

1. Did G-d really say that?
2. G-d didn't really say that
3. Actually G-d doesn't want you to do that because he doesn't want you to enjoy things. This is especially true when he taps into one of your desires.

We see this exact modus operandi during his encounter with Eve.

1. Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2. We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.Ye shall not surely die: And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
3. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

One of Eves hidden desires or lust was the need for knowledge beyond the here and now or Satan would not have so easily and successfully tempted her. The proof is in the meaning of the Hebrew word, ta'avah, translated here as pleasant. Its root meaning is the longings of one's heart, ones lust, appetite and covetousness.

Eve fell due to her ungodly lust for whatever the fruit of the tree would give her. However, that is not the most incredible part of this story. Notice that Eve was tempted but Adam was not. All Adam had to do was to step back and say, "Girl...you're in trouble." and start pointing the finger, but he did not.

Adam freely took of the fruit and entered into Eves predicament. The penalty for disobedience, death. Was he stupid or was it an incredible act of love? If we step back and look at it, we see that it emulates the exact thing that G-d would do for us approximately 4000 years later.

G-d saw our predicament and took upon himself our death penalty of our sin. G-d gave himself as the only legitimate sacrifice. What an incredible act of love. In the same way Eve was given a new lease on life, we too have that same option. All we have to do is accept the gift.

Genesis 3:1: The Serpent.

"Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made."

The Hebrew word here translated as serpent is "naw-khawsh" which does mean serpent. However, its root gives us a better understanding who our advisary is and how he works. Its root meaning is to whisper a spell. This is interesting because this is how he operates. He is constantly whispering into our inner conscience and attempting to persuade us into disobedience.

As a side note, in Samarian, "naw-khawsh" is "cachash" which means a liar or deceiver".

How does he know what to say? A further look, at what his name means, tells us that he learns by experience by diligently observing. He doesn't miss a lick. He and his cohorts know you better than the people around you. Therefore, when you see serpent here in chapter three, it means that Satan is very slick in how he does his job.

A great example of this is a snake charmer. He gets you so mesmerized on something that you don't see what his next step is until it's too late. That's why your best defense is not taking your eyes off of G-d.

He is "more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made." The word "awroom" translated here as subtle means cunning. And the phrase, "khahee min-nay kole saw-deh" translated here as "beast of the field" means "all of the living on earth". The first part of this verse means that Satan is more cunning than any of G-ds creation. Unfortunately, as we are about to see, he is very successful when he first tempts Eve.

"And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

One thing you can take to the bank is the fact that, above all things, Satan is consistent. His methods haven't changed for thousands of years. He certainly has fine tuned his skills but he hasn't changed his tactics. He tempts us with the same garbage he first tempted Eve. I guarantee the first thing that Satan and his cohorts says to us is the same thing he said to Eve. Did G-d really mean it that way? Couldn't he have meant it this or that way? The sad thing is that it works.

The front line defense for us is to follow the example of those in the U.S. Treasury Department. They tell their employees not to study the different counterfeiters and their methods but to study the real thing. Get to know it inside and out. That what G-ds Word says. We are to study and know G-ds Word as our own. That way, when Satan comes along and asks, "Did G-d really mean it that way?", we can say without a doubt, Yes he did. And tell Satan the same thing that Y'shua said to him when confronted him through Peter.

Get behind me Satan.

Pre-Genesis: A Prelude to Creation. Part Two

G-d looked up from the three archangels and spoke,

"Shamayim! Erets! Begin your journey."

Outward from the fingertip of G-d, sprung forth the entire universe. In its wake, it left what appeared to be rolls of a scroll.

It was time.

After what appeared to be billions of years but only a moment in time, Erets, Earth formed from amongst the debris.

G-d turned to the three archangels who was watching the beginning of creation and said,

"B'nai Elohim, do my will."

And so the three archangels, with the help of thousands upon thousands of angels, reigned over all creation doing the will of G-d. They served faithfully until iniquity was found in Ba'el.

Ba'el was full of wisdom and beauty, but pride swelled up inside of him. He was able to persuade a third of the angels to rebel with him against G-d.

As they prepared themselves for war, Ba'el stood in their midst and assured them of victory. Using the power given to him by G-d, he rose up and hovered just above them. He held his arms in front of him as he emulated the stance of the Most High G-d and spoke,

"I will ascend into heaven."

A roar of cheers cried out from the angels in support.

"I will exalt my throne above the stars of God"

Again, the exaltation of Ba'el rose up, louder than before.

"I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north"

"I will ascend above the heights of the clouds"

Ba'el basked in the glory of this moment which seem to go on forever. And as the cheers died down to simmering excitement. Then Ba'el cried out at the top of his voice,

"I will be like the most High."

Which sent the crowd into a frenzy. At this, Ba'el lept upward toward the heavens with his cohorts following, leaving the earth behind.

They were met by the faithful Angels led by Mich'el. Each wave of the rebellion was turned back by the righteous fighters until G-d cried out with a loud thunderous voice,

"Enough"

All stopped and bowed before the Almighty Elohim. All except Ba'el.

"O How art thou fallen from heaven, O Heyl'el, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground"

With G-ds final word, light engulfed the rebellion and Lucifer and his followers were thrown down to the earth. When they hit, the earth became a brilliant ball of fire. The earth, which was the crown of G-ds creation, was judged because of the rebellion and became formless and void and the darkness of the rebellion was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And G-d said, "Light.....come forth."

And God saw light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And the new creation began.

I hope you enjoy this. Of course this is not biblical. However, it is biblically based. I would have loved to have embellish a lot more but that would have gone outside the parameters of the bible.

Pre-Genesis: A Prelude to Creation. Part One

Before time began, before the here and now, there was G-d.

Without a word spoken, showing the awesome power of the creator, the universe, including the earth, sprung into existence. This was a pre-man universe. If the legends are true, G-d created the angels during this time. This included the three main archangels, Lucifer, the most beautiful and wise, Mich-el, the military leader of the angelic armies of G-d and Gabri-el, the messenger of G-ds Word. Their creation could have been something like this.

A Prelude to the Beginning.

Before this begins, we know that some of you will rebel against us and eventually we will have to banish you from our presence. However, whether you are Ang-el or Adam, you must play out your destiny in order for us to reach the goal. For we desire not to have mindless servants but dedicated and loving companions who desire to be with us and serve all through a committed and brotherly love.

We could create beings that would do our beck and call but they would not be what we desire because they would not have reached the goal through your own free will. Such companionship can only be obtained by taking a journey along the path of your own choosing. On this journey, you will always be in our presence or have the evidence of our existence. However, you have to choose your way based on faith, not by sight. We will now embark on that journey.

Are we committed?

We are committed.

Let it happen.

The Word of Elohim spoke out, “Hey-El, come forth.”

There before God, a light appeared. The light began to shimmer due to the presence of the power of the one who created it, Ruach-Elohim, God’s Spirit. The light, for the first time in its existence, bowed before his creator and spoke.

“Abba, my God”

“Hey-El. You are our son and we love you. You are our model of perfection, perfect in beauty and full of wisdom. You will be known as the cherub that covers. All of our creation, except Adam, will be at your beck and call, to do our will. Are you willing to perform the duties of your position?”

“Yes, my Father”

“To perform your duties, you will have others to help you.”

Upon saying this, The Word of Elohim spoke out again.

“Mich-El, Gabri-El, come forth.”

Once again, two lights came into existence, fluttering as the Spirit of God swirled around them.

“Adonai” they uttered as they fell on their faces.

Elohim responded, “Arise, you are B’nai Elohim, sons of God.”

Genesis 2:21-25 Eve, A Model of the Body of Christ.

“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Pretty straight forward. However, the observant reader must ask, “If G-d created everything else from scratch, then why did he create Eve from the side of Adam?” There must be something else here. We see that from the very beginning, G-d instituted the relationship between the man and the woman as “echad”. Echad is the Hebrew word for one. It is used in the “sh'ma”.

Sh'ma Yis'ra'eil Adonai Eloheinu Adonai echad.

Hear, Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.

This same oneness is modeled by a husband and wife relationship. Haven’t you ever wondered why a monogamous relationship is so important to G-d after Y’shua, when in the Tanakh, it appears that he kind of turned a blind eye to polygamy? Because, it’s not so much about a man and his mate but more about how it represents G-d’s relationship with his people, the Messiah with his bride, the church. Our marriage should represent Agape, a dedicated and totally committed love. No matter what happens within the marriage, you are to be committed to one another. This is the same way that G-d feels about us.

The reason why G-d hates divorce so much is the fact that it makes a mockery of the model.

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh"

One of the greatest bonds you have going into the marriage is the one between the man or woman and their parents. G-d tells us here in these verses that we are to make the bond between ourselves and to G-d greater than the one between you and your parents. So great, that we must break our parental bonds if it gets in the way between you and your spouse and G-d. Yeshua drives this point home in Luke 14:26.

“ If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”

“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed”

They were innocent as children. That’s all this verse means. It models what Y’shua said in Matthew 18:4.

“Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Genesis 2:18-20 Help for Adam?

"And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. "

Most of us were taught that G-d made Adam and then he created Eve. However, here we find that the animal on land and the animals of the air were created before Eve. Also, we have a timeline to help us determine when this happened. Chapter one tells us that these animals were created on the sixth day.

I have heard from friends that they’re not sure if they agree with my assertion that Adam and mankind were two different creations as I have stated in previous entries of this blog. However, here we have another entry that just doesn’t jive if we believe that the account of the creation of Adam and mankind as one in the same.

Here in chapter two, we have G-d creating Adam then the animals. However, in chapter one, we read that the animals were created then mankind. If you believe in the inerrancy of the Word of G-d and that Adam and mankind were one in the same, then this should bother you. The only way out of this would be that Adam was created, then the animals and then mankind, male and female. What are you thoughts?

Also, we find that Adam gave the names to all the animals of the field and the air. How about the sea animals. Were they included in with these animals or did G-d name them himself? That will be one of the questions I'll ask when I get there. Is there a reason that the naming of the sea animals were left out of this creation account? I think it's super important....just curious.

G-d knew that the animals were not enough to keep Adam from getting lonely, so he create another. G-d, in his foreknowledge, knew there had to be another person, like Adam, in order to be representative of a model for us. We explore that in the next entry. Genesis 2:16-17 One Simple Commandment

"And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

One simple commandment, don’t eat of the tree in the middle of the garden. As you read this, please keep in mind that G-d directly commands Adam, not Eve. Eve has not been created. Is this important? Never know. Just keep it in mind. Also, notice that the tree of life was not included in this commandment. Adam and Eve enjoyed a life free of death. They would have lived forever.

Back to the tree of good and evil. Was it a tree that would automatically give the eater knowledge of good and evil? I don’t believe so. It was simply an object lesson. Pure and simple, once someone was commited to eat of the tree, they would have, with fore thought and contemplation, disobeyed G-d and that is what evil is, disobeying G-d.

Genesis 2:10-2:15: And a river went out of Eden

“And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.”

The river came from Eden, going eastward, and flowed into the garden. After it left the garden, it split into four separate rivers. As a side note, it must be mentioned that the Word of God never says that Eden was a land. It could be a body of water, even though I believe it to be land. But I could be wrong.

“The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.”

Ancient records show the rivers are Tigris, The Nile and Red Sea, Ganges and Indus in India and the Euphrates. Unfortunately, we live in a post flood world. The flood dramatically changed the landscape but we are looking for a river that fed all four. I hate to say the obvious, but we are still looking.

“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”

It is interesting to note that most everyone would say that they envision Adam being created from the dust of the garden. That’s not what the bible says. G-d took Adam and put him into the garden. If Adam was created from the garden, it would have been phrased differently. Adam was created out of the dust of the primordial earth and place in the garden, in order to take care of it.

At this moment, it was either the end of the second day or part way through the third.

Genesis 2:9-10: Where is the garden?

“And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “

Keep in mind that this was before herbs and the trees…most likely on the third day. At this time, G-d made to grow every tree that is pleasant to look upon and that was good for food. These were only fruit trees, ones that would be able to sustain life. And in the center of the garden was the infamous tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The garden was a paradise in the midst of primordial earth. Outside there was nothing, no trees, no life as we know it.

“And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.”

There is a distinction that needs to be made here. A river from Eden went out of Eden to water the garden. Think about it. The water that fed the garden came from a land called Eden, but the garden was not in Eden. So why do we call it the Garden of Eden.? G-d continues to call it the Garden of Eden through his word. Before we go any further, we must revisit verse 2:8.

“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden…”

If you look at the Hebrew, you’ll find that the word “in” isn’t there. Instead we find the words “min-nee”, which means “out of”. The verse should read,

“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward out of Eden…”

With that said, God planted a garden, a paradise east of Eden, which was watered by one river from the Land of Eden. It may have been attached to Eden, or adjacent to Eden, but G-d wanted us to know it was not part of Eden. The question that I ponder and ask anyone who reads this is, "Why would G-d want us to associate the garden with the land of Eden.?" Nothing is in the Bible that does not have a reason. Our mission is to explore his word to find out and gain a more intimate knowledge of our creator.

As the river leaves this garden just to the east of Eden, it splits into four separate rivers, which we will discuss next time.

Genesis 2:6-8: But there went up a mist from the earth

But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Let’s look at what this chapter is saying so far. In verses 1-3, G-d has finished the creation process and he rested on the seventh day. In verses 4 and 5, we see the births of man. As we discussed previously, man was created on the sixth day. They were told to be fruitful and to multiply. That….we will call birth #2. For here in Genesis 2, we have a birth of a man that was before day six. I believe it was day three because it fits the model of the second Adam, Y’shua. This is birth #1.

This is not what most people are taught within the church today. This misquided notion causes many people to falter in their belief that there is no discrepancies within the Word of G-d. A belief that rises out of a simple question, “Where did the people come from that Cain was afraid of?” An honest and close look at the Word of G-d gives that answer and more. Quit perpetuating the traditions you have been taught. Speak G-ds truth.

Now, on this earth, there was no rain. There was a mist that rose up from the earth to water the land. This is amazing, here we have G-d watering the infant plants with the best irrigation delivery system, a mist. How did G-d know? ;-)

In addition, we have G-d planting a “gaw-nan”, a hedged garden, called Eden, in the midst of this barren earth. G-d did create trees, herbs and grass, but this is 1-3 days before that. Here we have an oasis, called Eden.

Interesting, we have a word that still puzzles me slightly, “eastward”. It this direction referenced by G-d from the point of creation or is it being used by Moses to orientate his readers? Or am I looking too deep?

Genesis 2:4-5 The Beginnings???? of Man

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

There are two schools of thought concerning this verse. One says that this is concluding the creation story. Period. End of thought. Carriage change.

The second is the one that makes the most sense. Verses 1-3 is the conclusion of the generalized creation story. This verse is introducing a specific occurrence that played out from sometime in chapter one and carries onward beyond the seven days of creation.

Please notice also the Hebrew word, to-led-aw, which is translated as generations. It also can mean histories or births. I honestly prefer histories or births. By the way, it is plural. If your bible has a singular noun, correct it, it is wrong. More interesting is what it implies, two possibly separate histories or births. Also, the word implies births or histories of human families. As we discuss the rest of the chapter, it will become more evident of the implications of this word.

“… in the day” simply means it has its origin within the first six days of creation.

And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

Wow!!!! Please notice the time. G-d gives us a time window that these births or histories began. They have their beginnings during the time BEFORE the plants and herbs began to grow. That means these histories have their beginning on or before day three, possiblly on day two. I honestly think it was day three. This is very important to remember as we go along. This is before man.

Genesis 2:1-3 The Seventh Day

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

It is interesting to note that the heavens and the earth were completed. There was nothing else to be or can be created. That is what the laws of Physics tells us. The law of conservation of energy states that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant. A consequence of this law is that energy cannot be created nor destroyed and we are all a form of energy. Once again, the bible teaches us a concept that took man till recently to recognized or accept.

The Hebrew word, “tsaw-baw” translated here as host means an army of soldiers or servants. As beloved as we are, we should never forget that we were created as servants or soldiers in G-ds army. Furthermore, whether you were born at the time of Adam or in recent years, the real you were created during or possibly before the first six days of creation. The fact is that you have been alive and have been known by G-d from before the beginning of time.

God, who hath saved us, and , not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the time began…

II Timothy 1:9

You are now being called to active duty in the army of G-d. Stand up and be counted.

The seventh day, the Shabbat, the Sabbath, the day of rest. This is historically the last day of the week. On the Jewish calendar, it is from dusk on Friday to sunset on Saturday. This is derived from the chapter we just studied. Since G-ds Word says, “And the evening and the morning were the first day.”, the Jews understand that G-d intended the day to begin at dusk and end the following sunset. It has been standardized as approximately 6PM to 6PM. This day is to honor G-d and the work he had done in creating his people and their environment.

Are we supposed to honor G-d in keeping his day holy? Yes. Do we as Christians honor G-d by honoring his day? Most of the time, no. Most will defend themselves by quoting the book of Hebrews.

“Jesus fulfilled the Sabbath.”

“Do not hold any day above another.”

“Today is the Sabbath.”

On the cross, Y’shua fulfilled the Sabbath thereby eliminating the ramifications arising from disobeying the law. However, Y’shua did not eliminate the law and your obligation to follow it. In other words, is the body of Christ going to be judged according to the law? No. Should the body of Christ have a desire to follow the law? Yes!!!!! What it comes down to this:

If you are a b’nai Elohim, a child of G-d, then you should have a desire to follow G-ds law. Honor the Sabbath, keep it holy. Honor the fulfillment of the Sabbath, observe today as the Sabbath. If you do not, then you might want to re-evaluate your position within the body of Christ.

Genesis 1:27-31 The Sixth Day Part Three

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Now comes the controversy. It says here that G-d created man, man and female and he told them to multiply and replenish the earth. This was on the sixth day of creation. My question to you: Is this Adam and Eve or Mankind in general? Some believe this is Adam and Eve. They rationalize thier position by declaring that chapter one is a generalized verson of creation and chapter two is a more specific version. Let's follow this line of thinking to it's end and determine it's ramifications.

First G-d tells Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. Did they obey? No they didn't. It wasn't until after the fall and their banishment from the garden did they begin to have children. Therefore, their disobedience would have been thier first sin, not giving in to Satan in the garden as the bible teaches. This is strike one against this verse being just Adam and Eve.

Then, of course is the "generations" comment in Genesis 2:4, which appears to support this position.

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

This appears to be saying that which follows, the Adam and Eve account, is happening on the third day, just before the herbs and the plants of the field sprung forth out of the ground. This would mean that G-d created Adam on or before the third day.

It is a fact that the Adam and Eve account in chapter two includes the fall and their banishment from the garden. If chapter two fits neatly into the sixth day, then verse 31 should be a problem for you.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

I doubt it very much if G-d would have created Adam and Eve, watched Satan successfully tempt them and watched them fall from his grace and call it very good. I'm sorry that's not going to happen. That's strike two and three and you're out of here.

So what's the alternative? Well... Let's try this on for size. G-d created mankind, man and female, and told them to be fruitful and replenish the earth. Either on that day or back on the third day, G-d planted the garden of Eden, created Adam and Eve and put them in it. The fall did not occur until after the sixth day, possibly on the seventh day when G-d was resting or later. Sounds confusing, eh? I'll elaborate further on this in chapter two, but first we need to also address the the Hebrew word, "maw-lay", translated here as replenish.

Replenish? Replenish means to fill up AGAIN. If you believe that Adam and Eve were the first ones, then you have to have a problem with this. Why would G-d tell mankind or even just Adam and Eve to fill the earth AGAIN if there weren't anyone on the earth before them? Did G-d misspeak? We all know the answer to that one. This begs the question, "Who was on the earth prior to Adam and Eve or mankind? Is it possible that there was a pre-adamic civilization as we have discussed before?

If I can keep you a little longer, I would like to address the rest of day six. I promise it won't take long.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Here G-d gave mankind the fruit of the land to eat, not the meat of animals. Yes, initially, G-d set up mankind to be vegetarians. However, this was changed in Genesis chapter 8. At that time, mankind was allowed to eat either meat of the vine or meat of the animal with kosher restrictions. This was modified in the book of Acts to what is is today. Mankind is allowed to eat anything that is beneficial to him. Go out and have a good steak.

Genesis 1:26 Sixth Day Part Two

... and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

After creating man, G-d gave dominion over all the earth to man. Dominion is the Hebrew word, "raw-daw" which means to rule over, subjugate, reign. This is a great example of G-ds daily intervention into our lives. Think about it. If it was just man and the animals, the lion or bear would be the rulers over all. However, somehow, the wild animals are afraid of us. That makes absolutely no sense. Honestly, what have they to be afraid of? There has to be something that keeps them away for the most part and that is G-ds commandment to stay away and be subject unto man.

Except for the minor instances where a wild animal attacks a human, they stay away and in fact, they are afraid of us. G-d has given us authority over all creation, but with authority comes responsibility and we have not done very well in that category. I'm not advocating being an extreme environmentalist but remember Y'shua's golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That tells us where we should land in our responsibility when dealing with nature. My thoughts are that we should land somewhere between not shooting animals for sport and a good steak on the table.

Genesis 1:24-26 The Sixth Day Part One

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

As with the fifth day, the animals were created to live on dry land. Why the sea animals first, then the land animals? I don't know. That will be one of those questions we'll ask him face to face. However, don't be surprise if the answer is that somebody had to be first. Nothing more than that.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

And so the controversy continues.... This verse is another one that points to the multi-dimensionality of Elohim. Does this mean the Father, son and the Holy Spirit? Yes and most likely more. As mentioned before, the concept of the Trinity is not in the Bible and limits a limitless G-d. However, as far as our reality is concerned, Elohim wishes that we see him at least as a triune God. With that said, here we have the Father, Yeshua and his Holy Spirit creating man in his own image. Yes...his own image. Even though he is at least a triune God, he is one as the Sh'ma says.

What is his image? We are created as body, mind, spirit and soul. Is this what G-d looks like? Because of our sin, we are limited to a four dimensional existance, three spacial and one time. Therefore, G-d reveals himself to us as a three spatial dimensional God. The time dimension is his eternal existence exactly as ours. However, we will enjoy a multi-dimensional spatial existence just like G-d in our post resurrection body. Being returned to a mult-dimensional existence, is all part of being redeemed. Thank you Adonai.

Genesis 1:20-23 The Fifth Day

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Out of the waters came life, the first life upon this earth. The first life were the minute creatures of the sea. Now most believers will object to this because they believe that the whale was the first creature G-d created. However, the truth is in the details. It's important to take notice of the small details within G-ds Word. This verse is a good example of why.

Please notice that the bible tells us that, "....God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life." Then afterwards in the same verse, it says, "God created great whales...". The Hebrew word for moving creature is "Shehrets" which means, a swarm of minute animals. The bible tells us here that G-d created an enormous amount of small creatures. This cannot be whales. No matter how you look at it, whales are not minute animals of the sea. Therefore, G-d made an enormous amount of small creatures first to feed the whale which came afterwards. If you think about it, this interpretation makes perfectly good sense, because whales require between 8,000 and 340,000 lbs of food during their feeding season. That's an abundant amount of minute creatures.

G-d also created the birds that fly in the sky. Please notice that the bible says that it is the open firmament of the shamayim, the heavens, in which the birds fly. This is the part of the heaven in which everyone can survive, not outer space or the upper levels of heaven. Once again, this shows the Word of G-d is not naive or erroneous about what the actual make up or what occurred during the formation or creation of the earth. Of course, G-d told his creation to go and multiply and become self sufficient.

One last note: All creatures were multiplied after its own kind. It says it right here. G-d used the same material to create all living creatures, therefore all of G-ds creation will have similar genetic make up. This doesn't mean we all came from the same cell. My recommendation to the evolutionists would be quit wasting your time on finding the "missing link". The missing link that connects all things is G-d. I wouldn't mind the evolutionists wasting their own time. However, it's our money they're wasting trying to prove nothing more than their belief that G-d doesn't exist.

Genesis 1:14-19 The Fourth Day

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The Hebrew word, meh-o-raw, translated as lights, is better translated as a luminous body or luminary. This is not to be confused with the Hebrew word, ore, translated as light in verses 3-5. Websters defines luminous as radiating or reflecting light; shining; bright,lighted up or illuminated; well-lighted. This is not a source of light, but one that reflects light from a light source. This is very interesting considering the recent "Bill Nye, the Science Guy" incident in Waco, Texas.

Mr. Nye ridiculed the bible and those who believe in a literal translation of the bible. He indicated that the bible was wrong because it says that the moon is a source of light. Wrong......The bible says that the moon and sun reflects the light from another source. Mr. Nye said that the bible indicates that the sun is the source of light. In reality and as the bible truly says, the sun reflects or gives off the light from another source, a nuclear reaction. Once again, interpreters of science, not science itself, are wrong and the bible proves out as the more correct source of truth.

Any way these luminaries are not only the sun and moon but the stars also. The sun is to rule over the day while the moon and stars rule over the night. Guess what...that's exactly what science and nature proves out. Who would've thought?

Simply put, on day four, G-d created and set the sun, moon and stars in the firmament. This firmament is not the sky as some try to erroneously state. This is the firmament of the heavens. After day two, G-d refers to the sky as the open firmament as seen in verse 20. Next time, we'll dig a little deeper into that. Also, this is not the light mentioned during day one. The sun, moon and stars reflect or gives off the light created on day one.

I like this because we can looked at this verse as a parable or similitude. The light that shines out from us is not our light. We reflect the light that shines within us. The light from the one and only son. Pun intended.

Genesis 1:11-13 The Third Day, Part Two

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

In this verse, we see the first vegetation appear on the planet. There are some that say this shows that the bible is in error because vegetation cannot grow without the sun and the sun wasn't created until the following day, the 4th day. First of all, if we believe in an all powerful G-d, then it is not beyond his capability to cause anything to grow under any circumstance. However, the non believers do have a point. G-d does not frivolously violate his laws of physics.

Vegetation will not grow under normal circumstances without light. This does not necessarily require the sun, which is one source of light, and light was created on the first day. All kinds of vegetation is grown daily without the sun. In the basements of thousands of people, with the help of artificial light, many plants are grown. To set the record straight, there was light for vegetation to grow, two days before these verses.

The next thing that should be noticed is the fact that the vegetation was the first of its kind. This brings to the mind, the age old question, "What came first the chicken or the egg?". The biblical answer is quite simple, the chicken. The answer is right here. The vegetation came first then it produced its seed to propagate. The same with the chicken. The chicken came first, then it laid an egg. Its impossible, under normal circumstances, for the egg to have the chicken. As silly as it sounds, these types of questions are bantered about everyday. This shows that the answers to everyday questions can be found in the Word of G-d. But you knew that.

Genesis 1:9-10 The Third Day, Part One

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

The third day of creation begins with G-d causing the earth to rise up out of the waters. Notice how the waters were gathered in one place. This tells us that the original earth, had no separate oceans, seas, lakes etc. There was one piece of land and one sea or ocean. Scientists tell us the same thing. Notice that G-d said that the third day was good in verse 10 implying that he blessed it. If you read ahead, you will see that he does it a gain in verse 12, therefore blessing the third day twice. I leave you with a question. Why did he bless the third day twice and didn't bless the second day at all?

Genesis 1:6-8 Let There Be A Firmament, Part Three

We have determined that this verse says exactly what most science books say. The primordial earth had an expanse (firmament), water above the firmament and below the firmament. We find out within the next verse that the land was below the waters under the firmament.

As discussed earlier, the firmament can be translated poetically as a solid dome. I don't want to make fun of those who ridicule those of us that believe in the literal interpretation of G-ds Word. However, the fact that they make fun of this "solid dome" idea reveals either their ignorance, inability to perform a simple research or desire to refute anything that supports the idea of a creator. Otherwise, it shows how deeply devoted they are to their god, the god of this world, Satan.

All they have to do is simply look at a Hebrew dictionary and find the word, raw-kee'-ah and it's definition. Yes, again it could be poetically translated as a solid dome. However, poetically is a great way of saying that the firmament is like something, let's say a solid dome. For the naysayers that don't understand or refuse to understand, this means it's like a solid dome, but not a real solid dome.

Wow.....once again, (dripping with sarcasm) that's what the science books say. Look what happens when anything attempts to enter our atmosphere, firmament. It burns up.

"For billions of years, our atmosphere has been:

A shield against bombarding meteorites
A shade against destructive ultraviolet radiation
A blanket against the cold"

Last but not least, the firmament, translated as expanse goes from our land and water up through the waters and extends or expands through all of creation, making up the universe. I'm not kidding, look it up. That's exactly what the word means. Once again, and what a good note to end on, that's what the science books say. The universe expands and continues to expand today. As a matter of fact, science tells us that the universe consists of three spatial dimensions and an additional seven dimensions rolled up like a garden hose. That's what the bible says in Isaiah 34:4.

"...the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll"

Thanks science, you are proving the Word of G-d on a daily basis. By the way, look what G-d decided to name this expansion, HEAVENS. It you didn't notice that's heavens with an "s" meaning multiple levels. That's important to remember the further we get into the creation account.

Genesis 1:6-8 Let There Be A Firmament, Part Two

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

Many of the naysayers insult those who believe in the literal interpretation of the Word of G-d, especially in this verse. They say we are too naive and stupid because we take it literally. They also try to add to our interpretation and again say it's stupid and uneducated. They say that there's no way there could be a solid dome of water above the firmament, known as the sky.

First of all, the bible never says there's a literal solid dome. Secondly, the solid dome interpretation is use in the poetic or figurative sense. The sad thing is that all these "educated scholars" had to do is look at a Hebrew dictionary. As for the firmament and the waters above and below, let's take it from their textbooks.

"If we assume that volcanoes five billion years ago emitted the same gasses as they do today, the earth's second atmosphere probably consisted of water vapor, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. These gasses were expelled from the earth's interior by a process known as outgassing. "

"The vast amounts of water vapor expelled by the volcanic earth resulted in the formation of clouds which, in turn, produced rain. Over a period of thousands of years, the rain accumulated as rivers and lake and ocean basins."

Wow....That's as simple as it gets...and that's exactly what the bible says... no more ...no less. There was water below and above the firmament. Why do the naysayers continually misstate our interpretation? Because it's not the truth they want, it's the glorification of their god that they desire.

NOTE TO THE NAYSAYERS: Quit adding to and taking away from G-ds Word in a vain attempt to advance your agenda. Do you hate G-d that much? One thing we all can take to the bank is the fact that whether or not you believe in G-d, we all will stand one day before the throne of G-d and give an accounting. Are you comfortable enough with your postion that you can argue it before the creator?

As for the firmament being a dome "of protection", why not? Think about it. Think about what you know about our atmosphere. We'll discuss this tomorrow.

Genesis 1:6-8 Let There Be A Firmament, Part One

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. There are many naysayers that condemn the Word of G-d based on this verse. Over the next couple of days, we will dig into this verse and dispel its controversy.

To start out, the Hebrew word, rawkeeah, translated as firmament can be interpreted as an expanse or a solid dome. Which one is correct? Can both be correct? After we are through, you are going to ask, "What was the big deal about this verse? Why all the controversy? I'm going to tip my hand and tell you that both interpretations are correct and shows that there has to be a G-d and he is in control.

Genesis 1:5 G-d called the light day.

And G-d called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Pretty self explanatory, G-d decided to call light by the name, Day. In Hebrew, it is yom. He also decided to call the darkness, night. Most will say that this proves that G-d was simply talking about a period of light and one period of night and both equals one day. No argument here. G-d intends us to look at this as one yom and that is good enough for me. G-d said it....I believe it.

As a side note, is it a 24 hour day? We can say with an utmost certainty that is was not. It is a fact that the earths daily rotation has been slowing down since sin entered into this world. Estimates within the scientific community inform us the days in the distant past range from 14 to 22 hours long.

The problem arises when you try to stretch that one day all the way back to verse one. Is it possible? Yes. Can we say with absolute assurance? N0. Others will say it proves all happened in one day because the same words are used. Again, possible but not absolute. What is the problem with exploring all possibilities as long as it doesn't go against the Word of G-d? Doesn't that say something about the PRIDE and arrogance of man, who thinks he has it all figured out and has all the answers?

Whether you believe it all happened in one day or over many years, doesn't it all come down to the fact that G-d did it all, and do you believe it?

In closing, one thing does keep me wondering and praying about it. Have you ever wondered why darkness or night is associated with evil, destruction, bleakness, etc., while light is associated with G-d, goodness, truth, etc. Could it be that these relationships have their origins to what could have possibly happened between verse one and two? Could it be that G-d wants it memorialized? Would that be just like our G-d?

As we keep our minds open to and discuss all possibilities supported by scripture, there is one thing we can rely on. G-d will explain it to us on the way up.

Genesis 1:4 God divided the light from the darkness.

What an interesting statement. A statement that has confused many scholars. Please don't take this as arrogance, but it's not that hard. Once again, the confusion comes from looking at it from our point of view.

First the confusing part. What is this light that is being discussed here. Many scholars have decreed that it is the sun, totally ignoring the fact that the sun was placed in the heavens to rule over the day on the fourth day. This teaching has caused many to doubt the unerring word of G-d and has set us up for ridicule within the scientific world. It's not that I care about being in conflict with the scientific community. No....its when we deliberately misinterpret the information and stubbornly announce it to the world as godly truth while disregarding the scriptures to the contrary.

Remember, G-d created the atoms. He then assembled them in specific arrangements that make up everything around us. This is the same with light. G-d created the atom arrangement to allow light to shine. A very simple concept. God created simply light. We as humans have a problem separating light from the sources of light. What happens to the light that shines out from our sun after it leaves. It continues on it's merry way throughout the universe. What happens to the light if somehow our sun goes dark. It continues on it's merry way throughout the universe. Light is a separate entity from sources of light, such as the sun. Once again, we have difficulties separating the parts that make up the whole. G-d doesn't. He sees his creation as individual parts and as mention in the last blog, he knows them intimately.

Now the dividing part. We know that, within this universe, there are very strong forces, some that are strong enough to prevent light from shining. They are called black holes. We have observed that anything, including light, cannot escape the effects of a black hole. Some scientists have speculated that it was from a black hole, a singularity, the universe sprang to life.

G-d called light out from the basic building blocks and then separated it from the rest to allow it to shine. It is from this light formula, it I can say it that way, that G-d created the sun, stars and everything that gives off light, but that's not until the fourth day.

In the traditional rendering of this verse, we see that G-d saw the light, which he just created and declared that it was good. However, by looking at the Hebrew, we can dig a little more detail out of what’s happening at the moment in time.

Raw-aw Elohim ayth ore kee tobe

Looking at the root meaning of the Hebrew word Raw-aw, which was translated as “saw”, we see that it could as easily be translated as gazed. This word usually means that whoever or whatever the one was gazing at, triggered an inward or outward, emotional response of joy or respect. Therefore raw-aw should be translated as “gazed joyfully or gazed upon with respect." Since reacting with joy towards someone normally implies respecting the other person, then the correct translation could be, “gazed joyfully”.

Elohim ayth is very controversial. Within the Jewish community, ayth is simply injected into the sentence in order to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition. While within the Messianic community, it has additional meaning when combined with the name of G-d or any pronoun referencing G-d. As mentioned in an earlier blog, ayth is comprised of the letters Alef and Tav, A and Z, the Alpha and the Omega, a name which points to Y’shua, the Son of G-d.

To back up the Messianic position, we pose this question. If ayth was simply injected into the sentence in order to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, then why isn’t used every time? The answer is the fact that G-d’s multi-dimensional existence expresses itself at times and he wants the reader to be aware.

Because G-d was overjoyed at seeing light, the word of G-d, Y’shua, was expressed. The same happens when a mother gazes at her newborn child and expresses her joy in seeing the beauty of new life she was given and says “Isn’t she so beautiful?”. Does that make her joyous expression a separate person? No. It is simply a verbal manifestation of her joy. The fact that G-d can either express himself verbally, or as a physical manifestation totally impresses me and leaves me in awe. Should we not expect this type of thing from our G-d who is all powerful and whose presence touches all things at all times? Why do we love to limit G-d and try to put him into a box?

After beckoning light to come forth, G-d was assured that it was good or alright. That can be seen in the alternate translation of the Hebrew words, kee tobe, which is traditionally written as, “That it was good”. Kee can alternately mean “assured of”, while Tobe can mean, “well being, welfare, happiness, good, etc.

We see that looking at the scriptures, under a different light, can give us a deeper insight into
G-d, his personality and how he relates to his creation, especially us. Finally, this verse can be expressed as:

Elohim, especially Y’shua, gazed joyfully upon light, assured as to it’s well being.

You can easily insert your name in the place of light in this verse.

G-d wants you to know that he gazes joyfully upon you every moment of the day, assured of your well being in Y’shua.

Genesis 1:3 Let there be Light?

In Hebrew,

Awmar Elohim, "hawyaw ore", hawyaw ore .

More specifically, Elohim called out, "Illumination.....come into this existence", and light came.

This verse, like so many others are read over lightly, ignoring some really interesting things about G-d. Things that allow us to gain a more intimate relationship with G-d.

Notice the word "Awmar" which is translated as said. Awmar is word used to call out to someone or something that has an ability to respond. It's like a master calling out to his pet dog and it responds instantly, not so much out of obedience but out of a desire to be next to the one whom he loves more than anything or anyone. This word tells us that illumination or light is something that G-d is very familiar with and calls by name.

We are taught that everything in the creation story are new things created by G-d. Even though there are new things created, there are obviously some are old friends, such as "light".

What a fantastic relationship.... and this is the same kind of relationship you and I have with the creator. He has known you for a long time.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee.
Jeremiah 1:5

The biggest problem is we can't hear his voice and respond through our sin influenced ears. However, as we grow closer to him, our ears begin to hear his voice.

One parting comment for this blog: Everyone thinks that this light is our sun. How can this be since the sun wasn't made until the fourth day?

Whether or not, Genesis 1:2 is translated

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

Or

But the earth had become a place of ruin, and destruction was upon the face of the abyss

The earth required further molding or reconstruction. At the end of this verse, we find G-ds Spirit enveloping the earth like a hen sits on her egg.

And the Spirit of G-d moved upon the face of the waters.

The word translated here as “moved” is the Hebrew word, rawkhaf, which means to brood, flutter, move or shake.

If you can imagine the Spirit of G-d fluttering like a field of extreme energy around the earth, then you have a pretty good picture of G-ds power at work forming the earth into what it is today.

I have always enjoyed envisioning G-d at this moment in time. It gives me an assurance of the almighty power of the creator. The neat thing here is the fact that it required a small amount of his power and time to do what he had done so far, a representation of an awesome and mighty G-d, the G-d that has claimed us as his own.

Genesis 1:2 ...and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

In the traditional rendering of this verse, we are looking at an unformed earth covered with water just before the forming process. However, in the alternate translation, it could be read as,

"... and misery, destruction and death was upon the face of the abyss, a roaring, surging mass of water."

which is obtained by the root meanings of the words, "khoshek" translated simply as darkness in the traditional interpretation and "teh-home" which is translated as deep. However, these words can be translated as "destruction and death" and "abyss, a roaring, surging mass of water."

This just happens to compliment the alternate version of the beginning of the Genesis 1:2. Once again, this verse has been a source of controversy for a long time and supports the idea of a pre adamic civilization. The problem with this version is the fact that it conflicts with man being first to fall and bringing sin into this world.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Roman 5:12

Rebuttal to this argument is the alternate rendering of Romans 5:12.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into this kosmos (orderly arrangement), and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Those in this camp argue that kosmos may imply the world but only within this existence. It means an orderly arrangement. The fact that the verse says, "this kosmos" shows that there could be another kosmos which was destroyed by God, a world that could have seen Satan and his followers judged after being kicked out of heaven.

Let me finished by saying that regardless of the version you believe, both are viable renderings of this verse based on the Hebrew. There will be some who will insult those who hold the opposite belief. My recommendation is to ignore the insults but always be open to other side. This is how G-d will teaches you by causing you to dig deep into his Word.

Closed minds and hanging onto traditional thought leads to no growth.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form and void? Part Four

Shalom, I hope everyone had a peaceful Sabbath.

In continuing our discussion concerning Genesis :2, the other translation for this verse is the traditional rendering of "And the earth was without form and void. It this is what the verse intended to say, then it is a simple continuation of Genesis 1:1.

In Genesis 1:1, God creates the earth and the universe. And in Genesis 1:2 he then takes this unformed planet and began to mold it into the earth we know today, or something similar.

As mentioned in our last four blogs, there are problems with this translation.

1. It does not allow for the geological ages.
2. Its does not give a timeline for when Satan and the fallen angels.

and that's just a couple.

However, just because it doesn't explain these things, doesn't mean that it is incorrect. There is no solid irrefutable proof that the geological ages span the millions of years that the scientists want to accept as truth. Time estimates come from methods like carbon dating, which is inconsistent at best and the fact that certain artifacts and skeletal remains were found in layers of earth dated by unreliable methods. They determine the age a layer of earth by methods such carbon dating and then say that the skeletal remains are that old because they were found within that layer. This is not good science. Especially when everyone is told that the earth is ever changing with plate tectonics, earthquakes, other natural disasters such as flooding and volcanic eruptions.

Also, scientist wishes us to except the fact that the universe is approximately 15 billion years old based on the speed of light. They say that because the speed of light is constant, they can reliably ascertain the time in which the light from the farthest star took to reach the earth and wah-lah, that's the age of the universe. However, they ignore the fact that the speed of light could be slowing down. If true, then that throws all kinds of time estimates into the realm of doubt, such as carbon dating.

Later in the discussion of 6 days versus 15 billion years, we will discuss the fact of the speed of light possibly slowing down and its ramifications.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form and void? Part Three

The Hebrew words, translated as, "...without form and void" are Tohu and bohu.

“Tohu”, translated as “without form” could also be “a desolation” as a result of a judgment. This has led a few to believe that the earth had a civilization of non-humans, possibly angels, prior to Adam and Eve.

Adding fuel to this argument is the fact that the next word, “bohu”, which is translated as void could also be translated as “indistinguishable ruin”. Compare this with Isaiah 45:18.

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain (TOHU), he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Isaiah writes that God did not form the earth “tohu”, (WITHOUT FORM) Does this contradict traditional teaching concerning Gen 1:2. Remember, God’s word is perfect and does not contradict each other.

The first part of this verse could be read ….”The land became or had become a desolation, an indistinguishable ruin.

How could this have happened?

Some believe that Ba'el, Satan was given dominion over the earth at first. When he and a third of the angels rebelled, God judged them and their dominion, the pre-Adamic earth. Those who follow this line of belief, think that Satan's led rebellion occurred between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. This does bring up a good question. If this is not the way it happened, then when did Satan's fall from grace occur?

So should Genesis 1:2 be translated as in the King James Version,

"And the earth was without form and void"

or

"But the earth had become without form and void"?

The question is whether to translate the Hebrew word "hayah" as "was" or "had become". Both are acceptable translations. To translate it as "was", verse two would be a simple continuation of verse one, signifying that its present formless condition was ripe for God's continuing creative activity. Opponents say that this view does not allow for enough time for the fossil observations we have at this time.

If the translation of "hayah" as being "had become" or "became" is correct, the implications are far different. For then verse two is a picture of the earth, not as it came from the hand of God in creation, but after some intervening event which had reduced it to a state of ruin.

This alternative translation allows for a space of time of unknown duration between verse one and two which can accommodate "geological ages". By the way and contrary to what you have been taught in church, this was one of the views held within the early church and some Jews prior to the time of Yeshua. This is called the "Gap Theory". Opponents object to this 'Gap Theory' as simply an attempt to rescue modern Geology.

As I said earlier, both translations are good Hebrew and does not cause any problems with the rest of the creation account here in Genesis. However, one view does have an apparent problem when compared with the rest of scripture. Both views have supporting scripture and will be examined over the next few blogs.

Earth is again the Hebrew word “Eretz” meaning solid earth or the land.

The Hebrew word “hayaw” is properly translated as "was" within this verse. However, it also means to exist, became or come to pass. This small word has lead to a world of controversy. As we look into the meaning of the rest of this verse, please keep in mind that either interpretation does not cause any problems whatsoever except for a blow possibly to traditional teachings.

So should Genesis 1:2 be translated as in the King James Version

or

"But the earth had become without form and void"?

Which is supported by the rest of the scriptures?

Genesis 1:1 - In The Beginning, Part Six

“Erets” means simply ground, land. Curious, that it doesn't imply water. So when it was translated as earth, it gives the allusion that it is the earth as a whole, land and water. In verse 2, it does talk about the waters, plural. Apparently, the Holy Spirit wants us to look at land and the water separately. This will become apparent later in the chapter, where the text implies that the water is part of the firmament, heavens, not the earth specifically.

With all this said, Genesis 1:1 could be written:

At the beginning of time and space, Elohim created out of nothing, the smallest building blocks of creation, the atom. He then formed all the universe, including the earth out of these atoms.

It can be also noted that G-d wants us to note that his Word and spirit was involved in this creation. This has created much debate over why G-d, who proclaims himself to be one, reveals his multi-dimensionality to a world who has problems grasping his nature. Some say that we don't have the capacity to understand G-d. However, the fact the G-d has revealed to us his multi-dimensionality shows that we can understand him if we would eliminate our worldly preconceived notions and allow the his Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth as promised by Yeshua.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

Genesis 1:1 - In The Beginning, Part Five

The Hebrew word, “shamayim”, here in Genesis 1:1, translated as heaven in the King James version, is more correctly translated as heavens. Specifically, shamayim is one of those words that encompasses a plural meaning but it is used as a singular noun, in the same way as Elohim.

It comes from a root word which means to be lofty; the sky. The plurality alludes to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve. Basically, if the word, shamayim, is used, it means everything seen when you look up, the sky and outer space.

If are talking about just the sky or the expanse between the earth and outer space, then the word "rawkeeah" would be used. Rawkeeah is translated as firmament in the some bible translations.

In Psalm 19:1, both words are used. “
The heavens "SHAMAYIM" declare the glory of God; and the firmament "RAWKEEAH" showeth his handiwork.

Isaiah 45:12 gives us look into what God wants us to think when shamayim is used.
I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens"SHAMAYIM", and all their host have I commanded.

As we get further into the creation story, it is important to understand the difference between shamayim and the word rawkeeah. This is especially true when we get to Genesis 1:6.

Genesis 1:1 - In The Beginning, Part Four

The next two letters don’t show up in your English bible. They are the “alef”,and the “tav”, the first and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It’s equivalent to the “A” and the “Z”. In the Hebrew language these letters are put together as the “ayth” and used in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object or subject of a verb or preposition. It comes from the root word “oth” which means (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, evidence, etc.: a sign.

Otherwise, it points more specifically to the one who’s doing the action. In this case, G-d. It’s interesting to note that in Greek, these same letters are the Alpha and Omega, a name proclaimed as belonging to Y’shua, Jesus of Nazareth. Isn’t this what John tells us in John 1:1? That Y’shua, Jesus is G-d and is responsible for creation. Could these two letters be a “beacon or a sign”, written into the text, pointing to this fact over 4000 years before Y'shua walked on the earth?

Interesting is the fact that it also appears in Zechariah 12:10:

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me "AYTH" whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

The "me" whom they pierced is the Alpha and Omega, the Aleph and the Tav, Y'shua the Messiah.

The word “bara”, translated as “created”, more specifically means to to create, shape, form and to expand upon. Using the complete concept of the word, is it better to say that G-d created the basic building blocks, the atoms and from these basic building blocks, G-d formed the universe and the earth?

In fact, science teaches us the same theory and tries to explain it by calling it “the big bang” theory. This theory concludes that all things were condensed in a singularity, a very small point in space. They say that this singularity exploded, or expanded during which, after billions of years, it formed “bara” all the matter that makes up the universe. They say that the only problem is determining where the material came from and identifying the force that caused it to happen.

Of course, that force and the source happens to be G-d.

Genesis 1:1 - In The Beginning, Part Two

“Elohim”, translated as G-d here in Genesis 1:1, is actually the Hebrew word for G-ds. In the beginning, G-ds created the heavens and the earth. Here we have a plural noun which has a singular verb. Does this contradict the Sh'ma found in Deuteronomy 6:4, “The Lord, our G-d is one Lord.“?

No! It’s the first place that proclaims the multi-dimensionality of G-d. Elohim is infinitely multi-dimensional. He has no limits. However, he will not arbitrarily break his laws of physics except for times where it suits his will or desire.

Therefore, we can confidently state that G-d inhabits eternity but exists in three spacial dimensions and one time dimension within our time-space. This is expressed as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This theme is consistent throughout the Tanak, or Old Testament into the B’rit Hadashah, or New Testament.

By the very meaning of the Hebrew word “bereshit”, translated as in the beginning, shows that there was nothing before this moment in time. This was the beginning of time and space. The fact that G-d was the one who created time and space, you can logically conclude that G-d exists outside time and space. In fact, Isaiah 57:15 says exactly that.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy.

Also, Ephesians 1:4 tells that G-d knew of you and your choices before this moment in time.

According as he hath determined us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blame before him in love.

Willing to Challenge Established Religious Tradition?

Believe it or not, many of today’s church leaders just don’t get it. I received a church newsletter in which the minister condemned a local resident of contradicting lawn decorations. The resident had ghosts, goblins, and witches in their front yard at Halloween, while a month or so later, the same house had a manger scene, angels, and a Santa Claus adorning their property. The minister went on to explain how this was very contradicting and it showed how this person and the whole community are in need of their guidance.

At first glance, this seems perfectly fine to the average church attendee. However, this same church will have; bunny rabbits at Easter, patriotic songs instead of songs of adoration on 4th of July, the hanging of the greens, a Christmas tree, and even Santa Claus during the month of December within their "sanctified" walls.

You see both groups are worldly, but in varying degrees. They fall into one of two groups; those who do it unknowingly, or those who do it while ignoring what G-d says about it. Many, who are reading this, will ignore this completely. They will not question what they have been taught, but will continue to be blindly led down that worldly path. However, you who continue to read this blog will be following the biblical example, to receive the message with all eagerness of heart, but search the scriptures daily, comparing it to the Word of G-d. Acts 17:11

The Facts of Life

There is a G-d.
Look around you…the evidence is overwhelming. From the intricate inner workings of your own body to the skies above to the uttermost expanse of the universe, the proof of a living G-d is there.

G-d is One.
Regardless of what men say, there is no trinity, there are no multiple gods. There is only one G-d. He manifests himself in many ways. In fact, the concept of the trinity confines or limits G-d to three persons. G-d is infinite but decides to reveal himself to us in one of three manners, the Father, the Son or his Holy Spirit. These are manifestations of one G-d, not three separate persons as taught in the church today.

G-d made man.
G-d made man in his own image and as with G-d, we are also one person manifested in many ways. Within this time – space which we live, we are manifested as body, mind and spirit.

Man is unique and is responsible and accountable for his own actions.
G-d gave man sovereignty, authority over his own life and existence. Man is the only sentient, self aware and self conscious living creature on the planet earth. The rest of creation is for man to rule over. Man is given responsibility over all the earth.

The will of G-d is the Law.
Whatever G-d says is the Law of G-d. The Law of G-d are the rules of life. You may not feel like obeying the rules, but that doesn’t make them go away or your responsibility to follow them. Whatever man does or thinks, he will be judged according to the Law of G-d.

Sin is breaking G-ds Law.
Disobeying God, in the slightest, is sin.

G-d is Holy.
God is completely and utterly perfect. In as such, G-d cannot exist in the same dimension where disobedience, sin, is present.

Sin separated man from G-d.
Not soon after his creation, man disobeyed G-d. This has caused an everlasting chasm or separation between sinful man and G-d.

G-ds Law indicates that there must be a payment for sin.
The price for sin is death. All men will die for the sins they have committed. Because of our sins, our physical body will die. In fact, we are dying at this moment because of the degradation caused by sin. That leaves the mind and spirit our soul, which is everlasting, but still separated from G-d. Keep in mind, your soul is everlasting whether you spend it with G-d or away from G-d.

G-ds Law also says there must be atonement for sin.
Atonement or forgiveness is required for the redemption of your mind and spirit, otherwise known as your soul. Atonement comes by the shedding of innocent blood, a sacrifice for your sin. The problem arises since there are no innocent or sinless creatures on the planet earth.

G-d provided the blood sacrifice.
Through out the bible, there are times where G-d manifested himself in the flesh. These appearances of the Angel of G-d can best be described as G-d in his physical body, 100% man but 100% G-d. This allowed G-d to physically visit his creation without actually being in the presence of sinful man. I should differentiate, at this time, the differences between the Angel of G-d and angels of G-d. As previously mentioned, the Angel of G-d was the physical manifestation of G-d himself, where the angels of G-d were the messengers of G-d. At one time, approximately 2000 years ago, G-d sent the Angel of G-d into the world to live a sinless life and be the blood sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. The name of the Angel of G-d is Yeshua Ha Mashiach, known as Jesus Christ.

G-d loves us all.
The first thing usually asked is, “Why doesn’t G-d wipe us off the face of the map and start over?” He could have and in all rights probably should have, but G-d loves his creation and wants all his creation to love him back. We were made for fellowship and worship. Would you have your child shot because he disobeyed you? No! Wouldn’t you give your life for the life of your child. Yes! In the same way, G-d didn’t wipe man from existence but gave his physical life for you to be back with him.

Yeshua or Jesus paid the price of atonement.
Because man brought sin into the world, the sacrifice had to be a man. Because G-d is the only sinless being, the sacrifice had to be G-d. There was no other way. Yeshua or Jesus was both the son of man and the son of G-d. He freely gave his life so our everlasting souls may have forgiveness from and have eternal fellowship with G-d. Without this sacrifice, our sins dictate that our eternal souls would be eternally separated from G-d . .However, the shedding of blood and the sacrifice of the body of the Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus Christ, our everlasting souls and the bodies have eternal life with G-d.

Salvation is having faith that this is all true.
Contrary to what you have probably heard in church, belief is not enough. You actions must reflect that your life is totally dependent on the facts laid out here. Two words must drive your life…Trust and Obey. Trust in G-d and Obey to show that trust.
