Genesis 1:9-10 The Third Day, Part One

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

The third day of creation begins with G-d causing the earth to rise up out of the waters. Notice how the waters were gathered in one place. This tells us that the original earth, had no separate oceans, seas, lakes etc. There was one piece of land and one sea or ocean. Scientists tell us the same thing. Our science books tell us that the all of the land on earth was one continent. They call it Pangea. Here is a map, courtesy of Wikipedia

Notice that G-d said that the third day was good in verse 10 implying that he blessed it. If you read ahead, you will see that he does it a gain in verse 12, therefore blessing the third day twice. I leave you with a question. Why did he bless the third day twice and didn't bless the second day at all?
